Following a vision sister Mors had received from seer Kestrel earlier, we decided to visit and investigate the pyramid residing not far south from Umbra in Malas. Myself, sister Mors and young sister Kira left the sanctity of our Temple, unaware to what kind of a danger we would be sticking our noses into...

We arrived at the pyramid shortly and heard the moaning of undead spirits and zombies from within. Still, with great resolve we decided to march onward and climbed on top of the pyramid, since the lower entrances had collapsed and were filled with sand. After defeating a few enemies at the top, we looked at the uninviting gap. Without second thought, we jumped in and only afterwards realized that we were now trapped with no way out!

Dozens after dozens of monsters poured over us. We fought bravely despite of the sisters being knocked out several time. After a few bloody moments we had reached the lower level. No sign of anything that might be related to the Nine was apparent and we despaired. Would that construction become our doom, entombing us within as it had inevitably done to several before us...

It is then when we spotted a strange creature. A huge purple lion (?) with a man's head watched our battle against the undead, taking no action to neither help us or attack us. It was only after sister Mors shouted out "Sphynx!" when I remembered the legends of the mysterious creature, able to see in the past and into the future. I told sister Mors to talk with it, but the thing insisted a payment for it's services! I wondered what it needed the gold for (inside a pyramid!), but started to help the sisters collect the required amount from the piles of corpses now littering the floor.

In a while we had enough, and sister Mors received her vision from the Sphynx. We retreated back to the Temple and discussed the matter. Then something weird happened...

While sister Mors was describing the vision in her head, a network of tunnels, she suddenly collapsed and stood up with a red glow in her eyes. She spoke with a ghastly, male voice, which I believe was of one of the Nine! Our prayers were answered as it came apparent that he was sleeping not far from our Temple, underneath the very soil we stood on!

With that valuable information, sister Mors soon returned to herself and we embarked on a quest to enlist more people. We could not awaken him to an army of a fistfull of followers. We needed more...
