In view of Sir Edmunds recent communication to the Council,it has been decided to recommence our regular meetings.

These will be held on the first Sunday of each month.

Council members who are unable to attend,may contact myself,for a copy of what was discussed.

It is hoped,everyone has now completed their tasks that kept them away for the last few meetings,and attendance improves once again.

Meetings will be as follows.

September 2nd.

October 7th.

November 4th.

December 2nd

I think the meetings should not be allowed to go much past an hours length, and say as mentioned above a pre set of topics. Each being discussed for a set amount of allocated time.
Then a period at the end or the start to which anyone can raise any subject or perhaps it can be someone bringing something before the Council.

Yes thats the usual format we have been following,where possible .

Sadly 10 days post my notice,we yet again have zero response.
No acknowledgement of reading here ,no suggestions for the agenda.

No response via PM either from those here nor those on F4g.

I sincerely wonder repeatedly,why folk say they want in on these ideas,and then never help to keep them going.

I also wonder why I keep repeatedly wasting my time.

Excuse me, I have not seen the post before.

I think it's a good idea to have a agenda and I agree with the idea of Decardo.

But I think this forum can be the good place for post any suggestion to discuss. If anyone have a suggestion, he can post it here in, by exemple, an IC letter. The president of the Council can decide if the suggestion may be discussed in the next Council or not. And, of course, I think like Decardo : a time for receive the suggestion in the start or the end of each Council.

For the meeting place, it's depend the number, but Nujel'm have a wonderful meeting place. Skara Brae too, off course . There is a good place in Luna I think too. Well for that we have the choice.

What about the next Council (the one of 5th august) ? It's canceled ?

Anyway, I think it's a good idea to have a agenda .

Would like to commend you all on trying to get things going. I can only imagine how hard it is to get several guilds to work together. I know how hard it is just to get members in the same guild to do things . Any way don't let all the rough spots get you down. The goal really is worth the work. And I know each of you can make it happen

It always seemed to me that "closed" meetings were/are the bane of Uo-Rp - now before you shout me down please listen for a moment

I understand the need for clandestine or guild only or leader only meetings. Of course they are essential.

But unless there is some damn good entertainment outside for the hoi palloi OR body guards are allowed or some such device, then players will get bored.

Also one idea would be to only allow characters to speak for a certain amount of time so everyone gets to feel they have contributed. Otherwise it tends to centre around a handful of players.

AGAIN I know ho wfrustrating it is to sit in on a meeting and hold my tongue to let players have their say only to end up with a stunning silence. SO theres no easy solution.

And yes Tabbitha - I agree on the "I want to be involved me me me" and then when it comes to the event or the time/date there is a flurry of excuses on icq or NO input prior to the event/meeting.

I dont really know what the answers are other than to begin to start thinking differently about the whole "guild" system and what we do with it and why.

I LOVE the idea of a chivalric council but ic Callum woudl probably say things which would upset everyone and I m not going to change my character or whatever.

I love this idea and I love you Tabbitha for your patience and your perserverence - and well done to Dec and Bevier for making the effort!

Thanks for your words above.
The Conclave was originally meant to encompass all Guilds which had a Virtuous/Chivalric (ie Knightly) element to them. The council was meant to be an open place where anyone could come and speak openly about a problem they had out in the lands and the Knights would listen and see if they could help.

Its harder to bring all the seperate orders together to work together than it is to lead one guild which i think is the main stumbling block atm.
But you have to persevere

As to Callum and any other non Knight like characters out there i would say that even the Great Council of the Knights of the Round Table had non Knightly advisors...... Merlin for example


Your Callum character is very unique my friend, and yes Decardo finds him very frustrating but then i am sure people could say the same about Decardo and his Renshai ways.
