Re: *Throws computer out a window*

OMG thank you so much kitiara!

This is my first step into the world of PHP...excited, yet nervous. There's just so much you can do with PHP, I figure I may as well start getting into it.
Hittin' the bookstore on my way home from work again to do some more studying.
Any handy PHP script sites you recommend?

Sorry to derail yer thread Petra

Question, what were you trying to do with said database?
Were you setting up an application/forum which uses mysql?

I just want to apply a database to my pre-existing web site to keep a news archive and an events calendar for all of his racing events. The news would fill a table I have assigned already for it. I would need to show the Date, Author (so users can tell if he or myself added the update), and of course the News. I want a sentence or two to appear on the web site, but then have a "click for more" at the end, where the end-user then clicks to read the rest of the article.
I'd also like a database for his finishes.
Eventually once I get better at PHP, I'd like to have a user name login for him where he can go in, and fill out a form of his own news updates so he can leave me alone while I play WoW lol!
I also would like to create a database for all of his photos on the web site.

Just never got into PHP before
