So I realized, just bored and was curious... I'd save about $140 a month if I quit smoking. That's half of a car payment I could have when I get my new car!!

I'm gathering up reasons why I should quit smoking, besides health, because for me anyhoo...live by the "Well, we're all going to die someday!" methodology. But if this means I save money, that gives me more motivation.

I have already had multiple attempts of trying to quit, but always end up crashing and giving in to temptation. So I was wondering if someone on UO:F that also has considered quitting, would partner up with me so we can be each other's support system.

I think this would help me out, because I would feel like I wasn't the only one going through this torture! We can email each other encouragement and get each other through the horrible withdrawal process.

So if anyone is interested in being my support system to quit smoking, let me know!!!

I hear that the nicoderm patches have helped many to stop and also there is a pill out now to help as well.

I have tried cold turkey, started up within a week. I have tried the patch, went for about a month. And I also tried Nicorette which didn't work either.

I have heard about Chantix and may probably go that route. I hear it works!

I'll quit with ya, after work tonight though. I quit cold turkey once and other than a couple of cigs, I went 3 years before starting up again. Yeah, I have that same we've all gonna die someday attitude too, so it's tough to quit.

OMG!!! *huggles* !!! I'm so happy!!! How about this then, we both set a start date to start? Like tomorrow? Start fresh and clean with a new day?

and thus begins y(our) journey to a full tanks of gas, new wheels, special nights out, splurges on something nifty ... whatever we gonna put those extra coins too ... oh plus ... a brighter smile, fresher breath, cleaner clothes, healthier pets, less cost for matches/lighters (hey ones gotta grill now and then), less coughing going up and down stairs, using ash trays for coin holding, reaching for .... something better than a ciggy

Maybe I'll join you guys too. Tried cold turkey before too. When we first moved to Canada, and stayed smoke free for a year. Then started again.

Kinda hard to quit cause hubby smokes too.
