I don't think it was a matter of inadequate skills - more a matter of lack of preparation. I for one had never done Dreadhorn, and the group had already gone to start getting keys by 8pm when I got home. So I jumped in not knowing what to expect, or what monsters would be there (to choose an appropriate weapon), etc. There was really no game plan, and people were dying so often that by 9:30p everybody was logging off (I suspect in frustration more than anything else).

My suggestion would be that all hunters involved need to meet up prior to attempting any part of a hunt to clarify strategies and make sure everybody understands the process and the monsters at hand. At one point I screwed up because someone had given me an "eye" and I had no idea what the eye was, so when I switched characters I didn't even think to bring the eye with me. I had asked what it was, but everyone was too busy fighting to answer.

It was just a mess, in general. Next time will be better! I hope....

Aye next Wednesday would not be a good day for many of us. In fact I believe several have mentioned that Wednesday was not turning out to be a good day anyway. We may want to look for a different night.

Especially this up coming Wed is bad...most peps have to pay attention to their loved one. As far a a better day...Fridays is the only day of the week which I can dedicate all night to UO. The rest of the week is hit and miss.

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for my attitude last night. My frustration mainly in dying a thousand times(noones fault but my own for having such sh**ty resists on my gear) and my wife giving me a hard time for being so wrapped up in game and not paying attention to her. Finally had to log couldnt take it anymore. Almost afraid to see how much insurance money was lost.

I think Kit is right. It's always very hard when you walk in not knowing what to expect. In fact, the first time a group approaches a peerless, even with a couple people who've been before, it's usually not so pleasant. You just have to see what's there. The first time should always be viewed as a learning experience. For me the first 100 times are learning experiences. (Now hush ya'll--no mumblings of slow learner out there!)

Last night turned out to be bad for a number of people all at once. It's unfortunate, but it's going to happen to us occassionally. Give us a time or two and Irk and company, along with Dread, will die like Mel does now. (remember our first Mel!--I do)

As to scheduling, maybe we need to look at a couple times during the week. I doubt there's any time that every single one of us will be available. We're very spread out geographically, some work days--some evenings, and all of us have family obligations as well. So far, we've been good about having impromptu hunts but maybe we could schedule in a few more times so folks could come as they are available. Say some earlier, some later.

This schedule is a SUGGESTION ONLY, but what if we set up something like this:

9pm Monday, 8pm Wednesday, and 7pm Friday are times when we'd like to hunt--all times are CST. Hunting place to be determined by the day before, so folks have time to prepare and be ready to start at the proper time.

Certainly not every single person can make all times. Each time should have a volunteer leader to determine (in advance) the hunt place and to direct the hunt. We can't rely on our Warlord or GM to be available all the time.

All this is just brain-storming on the board.

I agree with Kit & Eo, I hate walking into something totally unprepared. As you all can see from Lady Mel, I'm a hot mess at first

I am in school Tuesday, Wed & Thur. Wed I get out around 9 so I can do something small then, but I can't be (or shouldn't be up all night ). I'm game for weekends & Friday & Mondays. (Minus half a day some where to spend some time with my grandparents)
