UO:F Battle MVP - Friday 1/26

Hey, anybody want to do an informal sort of "MVP" thing for each group fight we do? (Ya know, just for the glory of saying "w00t I was MVP last Wednesday!") hehehe

I nominate Cabe for our Friday night fight last night at Lady Mel, as he always seemed to be the last to die and also had the miraculous ability to get us all back to life to keep fighting when most of us were down.

Nice idea Kit, will give much appreciated praise to those whose main role is healer as well. You and Vepl did a nice job staying in the fight as well.

If anyone can give me some tips on how to manage casting after losing regs it would be appreciated ( such as how to work with LRC and so on.) Pet did ok but wasnt the turning point by any means.

I find that if I can focus on 2 main tasks, I do best. The first time at Mel, it was cast energy fields and EV's. Last night, it was cast earth elems and keep Mel poisoned. I threw up the occasional heal or rez, but when I have to think about too many things, I become ineffective at them all, and that's no help to anybody! So as long as I'm assigned a couple main tasks, I'm all good.

As for suits... I have a 100% LRC suit, so as long as I'm alive and not naked, I can cast

It was just way too much of a hassle carrying regs in battle. When you die, you're basically handcuffed until you can get back to your corpse - and that drove me nuts. Not to mention the monsters that loot your pack and steal your regs.

It has taken what seems like forever to put together an LRC suit with 60's+ resists, but I've managed so far in everything but cold. I wouldn't make it as a front line battle person (not enough HP and not 70's armor) but for second line or farther back, I'm fine. My suit is mostly barbed leather, plus I have an LRC spellbook.

/edit - Also, I liked having the pet there, mainly because it kept Mel from targeting us, particularly when the elems would go down and we were all in cast mode trying to get more up there.

So if u have 100LRC u need no regs at all?

zero regs. you have a 100% chance of casting without regs.

Even if you're close to 100 you should be OK (though of course that one fizz will be at a vital heal point, if you have my luck).

If you're wearing 80% LRC, for example, you have an 80% chance of not needing reagents to cast each spell.

Also, if an LRC spellbook is part of your suit, it has to be equipped in order to count towards your LRC. Sometimes I forget to re-equip my spellbook after death (which is 20% of my LRC), and then I'll eventually get the "more regs are needed to cast this spell" message, which reminds me... oh &%#$, I forgot to equip my spellbook!

I got techniqe I use for my lrc when its under 100 is having boots that are arcance enhanced. I also carry a small bag of regs, but usually rely on boots and keeping a few arcane gems to refill it. Not being a tailor, you can only boost it by 16 charges, but it still is affective.
