PARENTS!!!! - Make sure your kids go to college right out of HS!!! It should be the law!
Doesn't always work that way. One could waste thousands and have some debt and nada to show for it. You got to want to do it. It's not HS were you hafta go, your paying to learn here.
Go for it Snuggles, the work is hard, the rewards are good. Your never too old to keep learning!

I am going to school with a bunch of kids out of highschool and their maturity level - well lets just say their citrus hasn't dropped yet.
The work load - Holy Poop Batman!!!!!!! I need to quit my job or find one closer to home! It's killing me staying up late trying to read and then I can't remember any of it!

Re: This Wednesday

You should go back to class. If you quit this, its easier to quit everything else. Never mind the maturity level of everyone else, set the standard and the rest will follow.

I won't deny it's painful as hell specially the first few weeks. Tell her to make sure she takes her pain meds (this would be after getting out of the hospital and doing therapy from home,) about 20 minutes before you go to rehab. Therapy is brutal and a must. The more she works it, in the long run she'll be sooo much better off.
Coming right out of the operation it's really amazing how much leg strength you have lost and motion. I started pre-op with a 20 to 80 degree range. Coldn't fully bend my knee or straighten it. When I was done about 8 weeks later, I was linping but had 0 to 120 range, which is excellent. Tell her to fight with the insurance company and have them provide this machine that helps bend your leg automatically while home. It was a great help. Another big thing is, get the weight off it really helps. Tell her not to be surprised when they come in the day after the OP and tell you you have to get up and start making some moves, it really is helpful to get right into it.
I spent 4 days in the hospital, then was transfer to a rehab hospital for 10 days. After that it was rehab at home and out-patiernt. Stress the importance of working it at home on your own, flexing.
Can't stress this enuff, if you don't do the work, you could end up wishing you never had it. Hey it took 20 years of old football pain away from me. Allows me to walk with the wife. Basically gave me my freedom back.

Actually the first thing I did when I got home was go out in the driveway and take a 10 foot jump shot. Hadn't been able to do that in 25 years. Not something I'd recomend, but something I needed to get out of my system Off course the wife gave me an earful, but she's been doing that for 30 odd years

Hey if you have any questions give me a yell, glad to help you all thru it.

Se'an

BTW - I didn't want to sound over harsh about the pain, but it's a reality and it goes away. If she does it right she should be limp free in about a year.

Knowledge is power, and power corrupts. So study hard and be evil.

Awww Snugglebug that sucks
Hang in there girl. In the meantime, if you want me to beat someone up for ya, just hollah!
I slacked off A LOT these past two weeks and I'm paying for it now. I should take my own advice on studying!

Re: This Wednesday

BTW Snuggs as I told my daughter if the work load is too much cut back a class. It's better to take it slow and go in with a fresh mind, then overstress and blow-out a class. So it takes longer, big deal, in the long run you get there and you don't have to repay to take the same needed class again.

**Goes to take off his Mr. Rogers sweater**

BTW sorry for the high handed rant. I just think education is the answer for all of us. In just soooo many ways.

I totally agree Mr. Rog..Silverfoot! I appreciate it! I needed it hehe.

I am only taking two classes, but this is my first Advanced Biology class and I have a teacher that likes to give a lot of writing assignments & I'm taking Lit. So its just a immense amount of reading and writing to do . I am terrible at writing so I stair at he screen for a few hours and get like half a paragraph of gibberish out. Plus I am distracted about the things I need to take care of at home...... but haven't /end wine
