What to do when stable is full?

OK... scenario:

You're out taming and get a wicked cool cu sidhe (4 control slots). You take him to the stables and try to stable him and... d'oh! Stable is full.

But what if you just want to swap spots with a creature in the stable? (Put this one in and take one out)?

Is the only way to have a 1-control-slot creature in the stable?

What if you don't have one of those? Are you forever stuck on your one pet? Is there any way to release a pet from the stable without claiming it (if you don't have enough control slots to have it follow you)?

what i do because i only took vet to gm, is put on a ring and bracelet with vet on them to get another stable slot. switch pets, then switch ring and bracelet back again.

101.1 for a 0.2% chance at taming one. Only a 38% chance to Tame at 120. Ouch.

93.4 Control chance at 105 Taming/105 Lore tho...

or holler when one of us tamers is on and transfer to us long enough to release one of ur stabled pets and we will transfer back

That is what I was going to do if my taming was high enough, but its not
