Targeting Macro Prob
Hi there,
I'm using KR for a while now (even if I hardly find time too play at all) and getting along with it better and better. And in opposition to a lot of comments I hear here, I got no lagging or performance issues whatsoever since KR gone live - it's as smooth as it could be. But now I ran into a problem I just can't solve: I tried to make an "I-win"-Button for my peace-tamer , meaning a macro that goes as follows:1. Skill "Peacemaking" with target "current" 2. Say "All Kill" 3. Wait for Target 4. Cursor Target Current When I activate the macro, it peaces the monster alright, I also say "all kill" , but it doesnt automatically target the current target but gives me the targeting cursor instead. I confess, it's not that big a problem to click on a peaced monster but the point is, that it isn't working as it should. Things I tried to no effect are adding a delay between peacemaking an saying all kill and using Cursor Target Last instead of current - no use. Any ideas or experiences with that? Anyone? Can you reproduce that error or is it just me? Last edited by Merion; 11th October 2007 at 06:46 AM. |

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Um... Thanks?!?
I deliberately posted it in the KR Forum, cause I thought its a KR related problem. But you're around here longer, so I trust your decision of moving it ;) I'm familiar with the threads you linked, but there's no solution in them for my prob... Hope some friendly tamers can help me out here |

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Well in my experience with KR I think your problem is where you say wait for target, current target. I think the wait for target requires user interaction and thus waits for the target before it will procede to the next line.
Question, are you trying to kill your initial peaced target? From the looks of it you will peace your current target, all kill your current target, wait for target, (switch targets?). I will set this macro up when I get home and play around with it and see if I can figure out what is going on with it. Meanwhile, good luck. |

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Yes, I try to kill the initial peaced target.
I see a monster, peace it and set my dog on it in one pressed button, thats the idea. I don't fully understand your remark about wait for target and user interaction - in 2D the wait for target was necessary, to cover the little delay between saying "kill" and the appearance of the targeting cursor. Otherwise the macro tries to target a creature with the cursor while there isnt one yet. But thanks for the help, I'm curious about your results. Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Shouldn't you have "target cursor" after you use the peacing skill? Then use "target current" after all kill. Not sure but you may need a time delay between the peace cursor and the all kill command.

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
No, I dont get a target cursor after peacemaking, because when making the macro in KR, I right-click on the peace icon and set Target to Current. So the peace skill auto-targets the current creature without showing a cursor. Doesnt work for 'verbal' commands though.

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Testing this out for you now. Need some information though.
1. Skill "Peacemaking" with target "current" 2. Say "All Kill" 3. Wait for Target 4. Cursor Target Current Ok so let me understand what you want. In KR you can target something and get a graphical representation of that being the "focused" target. Meaning, your primary target is the one with the gold circle. So we peace that, all kill. Is this all on the same target? If so you can just make a macro for peacemaking/all kill. No need for the extra stuff. Personally I use two macros. One for peace and one for all kill that way I can peace adds if need be without my pet switching targets. I'm still not entirely sure what you want to do with this. It sounds to me like you want to peace your "current target" which in KR would be the one with the gold circle around its feet, and send pet on that same target you just peaced. |

Re: Targeting Macro Prob
Yes, you understood quite right.
I target a monster, say a dragon, making the golden circle appear around him. Then I want to peace said dragon and send my pet on him by activating my macro. I tried it the way you suggested, using only peacemaking and all kill, the dragon gets peaced but I end up with a targeting cursor and have click on the dragon myself to send the pet. That's why I came up with the wait for Target and Cursor Target Current stuff. Still doesn't work though... Hope your testing will bring some results. Thanks for the help by the way, I really appreciate it! |
