Taming questions
My current taming skill level is at 85.5 without jewelry. I should be taming hell hounds, right? I do not have peacing or music on my template. How do you tame a hell hound without peacing them? And I have tryied paralzing them but can not because I don;t have eval intel on char. Or should I be taming something else?

Re: Taming questions
If it was me. I would be working on brown bears, cougars, panthers and a stretch would be snow leopards. I like taming for gains on nonaggro creatures. Also I want something that I have a high chance of taming the first time. You only get a skill gain check on a success. So the more successes the better the chance for a gain. Well that is my opinion anyway

Re: Taming questions
As I understand, Merc's question is in general "how to tame an aggressive creature without peace/unable to paralyze", not what to tame at 85.5 taming, which he can find in any of the decent taming guides.
Having the same problem with my tamer, do we have to go on taming non aggressive creatures forever? I think there shoudn't be any connection between paralyze and eval, is there? Any strategies for a no-peace tamer? |

Re: Taming questions
Your ability to paralyze is affected directly by your evaluation level. The higher the eval, the longer the paralysis last. It's an offensive spell, so like others of it's type, the eval level of the character has a direct affect on its potency.

Re: Taming questions
Antiochian, yes that is the general idea of my question. How to you tame aggressive creatures without peacing or paralaze? But Yepl also makes a great point about the chance of gains. I would rather tame a nonaggressive creatire. But still I would like to know how to tame an aggressive creature without peacing or paralaze.

Re: Taming questions
the way i used to tame agressive animals is by "lure taming". Make a macro of Use Skill(Animal Taming) then last target. Use the taming skill and target the creature you wish to tame. Then walk forward as you start taming them, healing your self as you go. You have to try and keep one space in front of them or they will bite! And not too far so that you get the "your too far" message thing... Its tricky to get used to. Also it helps if you beat the animal down to low life. Drakes and Dragons for example hit you with a much lesser firebreath if they are on low life.
Thats the way i used to do it, hope it helps.. maybe? ![]()
