Tamer template question....

I'm building a tamer with taming/vet/lore, peace/music, magery/med skills.

Is it desirable to plan to get to 120 in each of the taming skills? Also, I'm guessing it is best to get to 120 in music as well.

If that's the case, I guess Meditation is the skill that gets dropped down to 20? Or, do most people only go to 120 in Taming and not the other skills?

Seems like it would be pretty hard to do anything well with magery without med, unless you got a really good mana regen suit together (which is probably pretty hard if you're also looking to have a really good 100% LRC suit).

What's the norm in terms of skill caps for a peacer/tamer?

Normally for a bard/tamer, you take the taming skills and the bard skills to 120; taming skills for the stable slots and highest control percentage, bard skills for best chance to peace/longest peacing interval. Magery is used for support only: for gating, marking runes and recalling.

I even built a non med, HIGH luck, mana regen suit for Paul back in the day. Since 10 MR is the same as GM med. Throw in boomstick and pendant, max out at 14 MR easy. Replace other pieces with max LMC, and voila, supersuit. Never even miss med.

I had Focus on my Tamer so that I never had to wory about Medable gear and I was pretty shocked that when I took it off in favor of Carto/LP, I didnt miss it in the slightest.

The only time I tax my mana is if Im fighting something that poisons alot with a low HP pet and I have to start tossing Gheals and Gcures around...

Kit, I run with your build. It's item dependant though 'cause I have Disco instead of Med and with a swap of jewelry I can get to

115 Music/Peace/Disco/Tame/Lore/Vet
6(something) Magery.

Swap Jewelry and Disco drops to 87, Magery goes up to 8(something) (for gating when needed).

if you get nice taming jewels you can keep it low and put more points into something else, thats what I do. between my jewels that have high taming and some other mods and that bird summoner tali, i free up almost 40 skill points to put somewhere else. i also hold a scrappers and a vesper shield so i can have a better cast rate. but this way it gives you some more freedom with your template, you can even lower animal lore by 5 pts with the talisman - plus it is handy at swoops!

Good idea holding stuff, Carl - I'll have to see if I can find one of those vesper shields. I do have the tali, which is sweet!!
