Re: tamer template plan

If you go mage tamer, make a 100 LRC suit, with the MAX Mana regen you can get, and try to get Fast Cast 2 / Fast Cast Recovery to 6. And to jsut add on more, you want Lower Mana Cost as well.

With all those, you will be set to cast heal your pet in combination with vetrinary, suport with damage spells, and be a real asset at Doom or Peerless bosses. They have area attacks / retargetting that makes close up vett'ing improbable.

Re: tamer template plan

Heh true, but I personally use my jewels to boost FC/FCR or resists, or maybe LRC/LMC. I don't see a lot of point in using magic resist since my pet is my tank, and if I play a PvM tamer right, I shouldn't be getting hit at all.

Re: tamer template plan

I also got a tamer/mage. Works well but i often miss the ability to tame my own pets (peacemaking is a big plus). I use this char for pvm. Usually my pet does the damage while im healing/supporting but i havent tried out this template on a peerless yet since I dont know anyone doing peerlesses.

Re: tamer template plan

It will work, and 120 resists (44 resists ) will allow you to wear whatever you like.

I like discord tamers actually but like I said, it is all up to you and what you think is fun

Question about that, you said you like discord tamers. Im on my first character playing a magery/tamer with these skills

Taming
Lore
vet
Magery
Eval
Med

Now, is there any way I could fit discord or even peacemaking into that ? I was considering doing some bard skills with this template last night while playing, and think it might be a bit of fun.

Eitehr that or take spell weaving, that looks pretty fun, but i heard the book is hard to get.

It gets awfully tough to incorporate those extra skills. What you could do is what I have done with my mage tamer, and that is to stone off eval and med and then work up music and peace for her. Her base skills are:

Taming 107 (scrolled to 120)
Lore 120
Vet 110 (scrolled to 120)
Mage 115
Med 120
Eval 115 (someday I'll be able to buy her a 120 eval)

and then on stones for her I have

Music 120
Peace 120

This works really well, as depending on what I or my guild are going to hunt, I can take a mage/tamer or a music/tamer. Just another option..........

Re: tamer template plan

Hmm that sounds pretty cool, especially since my med and eval are almost GM. When you say stone, im assuming you mean soul stone. I don't think I can get a soul stone cause as far as what stratics says about them:

Quote:
A Soulstone allows you to transfer all your skillpoints in any given skill from one character to another character on the same account. It only works once every 24 hours though.
A Soulstone is tied to your account, so there is no point in buying or selling one, as it only works on the original account it was redeemed with.
Soulstones could only be gotten by pre-ordering the Samurai Empire expansion.
Any way, is it still possible to get one of these?

Thanks

Re: tamer template plan

You can find full soulstone tokens still for sale for 8-13 million (I know, a lot of gold). Realistically, you'd be better off buying a couple soulstone fragment tokens. The frags work the same way as a full soulstone, but are limited to 5 uses, so they're not as good if you plan on going back and forth a lot, but if you want to be one thing for a while, you can make it pay. You can find frag tokens for 200-500k depending on shard. When you buy the token, double click it..it will ask if you want to redeem, so you click OK. The fragment (or full soulstone if you buy a full soulstone token) will appear in your bank box. Just head to the bank to pick it up. Once the tokens are redeemed, that soulstone or soulstone fragment is tied to your account. The tokens themselves are not.
