![]() | Stress Another rant but this time about taming. The fact, that you might aswell and would probably be better off watching paint dry, or wasting your life doing something else sitting down doing nothing. Since I picked the game up (which has been a few years now), I've always dreamt of being a 120 tamer, seeing others with their Cu Sidhe's, Greater Drags etc and ofcourse I knew that taming was supposed to take months, years to reach 120. Just out of curiousity, what is the fun in sitting there, clicking a button and taming the same crappy animals over, over and over again? Ok, GM and onwards maybe fun when you get to tame a mongbat but seriously, is the end product really worth it? At the moment, I'm 92.3 and I've just tamed about 50 white wolves and 50 bulls and not even a 0.1 gain. It's a joke. How the hell do some legendary tamers manage to 'waste' so much time just taming. Warriors are just as good and I've hit GM in about a week with them. I've always wanted to be a tamer though, but it really drives my patients not seeing my skill increase (yes, the arrow is pointing up), but c'mon guys, if there's any secrets/tips/info i could use, please share. P.S patience is the key, I heard. |

The grind is the only thing holding me back, so I understand your frustration. Perhaps I will just continue to live vicariously through others on this one, and watch their dragons lay the enemy low... ![]() ![]() ![]() Lord L'arr Hamerfeld | |

![]() | Re: Stress At 93, you can get jewelry and get whatever pets you want. Lore goes up so much faster it is unreal, so you should be able to get 110-115 animal lore by the time you hit 93. I am sitting at ~95 taming on my tamer at the moment, but have 115 with jewelry on. I can control my gdragon with only the ring on (+15) easily. I only wear the bracelet for when I am using my Dread War Horse. Having said that, I have no idea how people have the patience. I sold some soulstone frags back in the day and bought an advanced char token with the gold. I just get my easy point each day since then. I hunted with a pack of ozzies on him for a LONG time before I finally tamed a WW/Mare. Now I have everything I want since I learned about the honor tame trick. |

![]() | Re: Stress my taming is a real 90.6, lore 107.8, and vet 104.4. I have jews to take me to 115 in both lore and taming. I have a greater dragon and I tamed him myself. I have no problems controlling him either. Now, I have to confess I tamed him with the help of a legendary peacer ![]() They have a nasty bite. Every morning, I log in and tame unicorns--no deaths this way. I tame 10-15 of them and take them to the zoo. I usually get 3 gains/day this way. And with some luck in about 5 months and a 120 scroll which I still don't have. I will be legendary. But I am definately getting the benefits now ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Stress About a month ago I finally reached legendary on my tamer. Up to GM was pretty easy, took probably a month or two of an hour or two a day. After that, I lived off of GGS's for a long time, and used jewels to tweak my skill points to allow me better chances of taming certain animals. Finally, from 115 to 120, I did the grind on unicorns, donating all of them to the zoo for reward points...it figured out to be 1142 unicorns lol. There are a couple things you can do. As holme mentioned, you can jewel up...just make sure you leave a point or two under your cap as it's easier to keep gaining that day...just live off of GGS' and go on your marry way. You can do what I did on the second tamer I've started....I stoned off everything except taming, lore and vet and went to the jhelom farms. I left her in the barn there when I logged out. I used jewel's to play with her levels and took her from 70 to GM in about a month. I ground her in a weekend from 70-87. After that I would just log in real quick three to four times a day (when possible), tame 'till I got my gain, and then log her out. There was no grind that way, rarely did I have to tame more than 10 bulls to get my gain. Now that she's GM, I just jewel her up to 115 with a bracelet I have and for the moment she's done. I think stoning off everything you don't need to get your skills under the 350 total level speeds gains...obviously you can't do much with the character while you're doing this, but again this was a second tamer for me on a second account so I was in no big hurry. Other than that.....patience. It is THE longest skill to 120, and I've done poisoning, ninjitsu and spellweaving, all of which are a pain. Taming is the slowest. It's why I laugh when I hear people talk about "overpowered" tamers....I believe there should be a reward for the effort/time that goes into that template. Hang in there, believe me there is NOTHING in this game....NOTHING....more rewarding than seeing that final tame that says "animal taming has now increased by .1 to 120.0". ![]() Last edited by jfk; 17th June 2008 at 10:00 AM. |
