Re: Mare Training

Any place you can get mare to cast, without actually killing things. To me, this would be a shadow ele. The perfect set up would be a location where the mare cannot hit the ele, forcing it to use magery more.

Re: Mare Training

I'm still a training n00b but here is what the Stratics tamer guide in their forums says for magery:

A good guide, especially the blue training portion.

Re: Mare Training

Great place to train magery is the twisted weald. Have the pet you want to train magery with on the opposite side of the rocks across from the cu sidhe. Then simply have it attack, and beacuse there is that lil montain of rocks between you the cu sidhe cannot attack your pet and your pet can only use magery to hit it. PLUS cu sidhe can heal themselves, so you never have to worry about it dying. Yay!

I wonder if that's legal though? There's no modification of game mechanics, but a while back there was a huge uproar over training skills or pets on "stuck" monsters. At the very best, it's a gray area re: legality.

People train resist on the stuck pixies in Twisted Weald as well, over by the champ spawn thing at the south east end.

Re: Mare Training

Meh, you could do solens the same way too. I don't think it's considered illegal, but you never know.

Enough people do it that I think they would've said/done something about it if it was considered illegal.

Enough people script skills, resources, etc, but that doesn't make it legal.

It depends on how lawful a person is. 100 people may pass by and not say anything, but that next 1 person may not like it and page.

As for training...I've done blue pet (can be tricky) and found a monster within a few points of my pet in magery and been able to gm that way. Working a pets skill is kinda like working your skills. You want to find something within a few points for your pet to gain.
