Help with template dilema
Recently turned my tamer from a peace tamer into a full bard/tamer ie all bard skills and tamer skills.
Plan was to have jewerly and items to boost magery to a point where i could recall but then i realised i cant have any the bard or tamer skills past 100 which its needed for high end mobs. soooooooo what do i drop? heres my skills at present 110 Taming with jewerly 105 Lore 90 Veterinary 100 Music 93 Provocation 93 Peacemaking 90 Discordance 59 Magery 715 skill cap i love using all the bard skills and really cant pick between any of em peacemaking is a real life saver and makes taming ten times easier plus killing things that wont hit you back is unbelievably easy Discordance apparently makes the best of the end game mobs look like !!!!! cats Provocation has saved my life plus things are easier to kill when they to busy killing his mate. so any ideas on what is best to drop and what to max? thanks for any replies |

Re: Help with template dilema
If you tame a non-ridable animal like a dragon or rune beetle, you will have to be able to gate to get it to a stable eventually.

Re: Help with template dilema
My suggestion is that you drop provoke.
When you provoke, that gives you about 12 seconds where you can't peacemake or discord. Besides, as a tamer, you already have a "monster" who is supposed to be your tank, making provoke a little bit redundant outside of certain Doom-y situations. If you really do love Doom, than dropping peacemaking may be the better plan, so you can provoke the little nasties against the big nasty. Besides, other people with peacemaking really annoy me sometimes when they use area peace ![]() But whatever you do, keep discord. Seriously. |

Re: Help with template dilema
dont mind walking back a new tame if it aint ridable as i only tame what i plan to keep so that aint many things.
i hate doom lol so guess i be dropping provoke just feels wrong without having loads of magery heh. one more thing, what skills to go to 120 with? |

I never gate. I recall to stable, log out and then back in. Wala, pet at your side.

Re: Help with template dilema
I'd dump peace. At best, soulstone it for when you feel it's necessary, but I find it hard to really get benefit from all 3 barding skills plus pets.
What I went for was 110 in taming skills then 110 music and 105 in disco and provo. Then I added song woven mantle (arms with +10 music) allowing me 120 music and that just needs jewellery of +15 in disco and provo to boost those up to their max as well. Whatever remains I put in magery. I have a + magery spellbook I can equip if I need to res or cast EVs, though I don't use it that often. If I want a new pet I can pop on some +taming jewels to boost a bit higher, but for day-to-day hunting that does me well. And with disco and provo you're able to deal with spawn with or without your pets. Wenchy ![]()

Re: Help with template dilema
I prefer to keep peace over provoke on this template.
-You already have a monster on your side -Area peace saves lives Disco + greater dragon = good game ~M |

Re: Help with template dilema
I agree with this when taming a greater dragon or like critters, peace, while not required, is helpful. My tamer was made before pub 16 (iirc it was 16 that had bard changes) so she is a lead tamer with no bard skills. When i tame i am always thankful if a peacer happens by and calms the beast i am taming for me.
