![]() | Drop Eval for another skill? First off here is my template: 116 Taming 120 Animal Lore 120 Veterinary 115 Magery 115 Eval 120 Meditation I play in a 2/6 100 lrc luck suit with swords of prosperity for defense. I'm wondering if it is a good idea to get rid of eval for maybe ninjitsu or another beneficial skill? The reason I'm thinking ninjitsu is when I'm out hunting paragons...like say...a paragon balron with my greater dragon...and lets say that paragon balron switches targets...I usually end up mince meat! I was thinking maybe ninjitsu for the clean getaway if it switches targets. That or maybe focus to make mage healing more effective? My suit only has 10 lmc (totem) and no MR. |

![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? You are setup almost the same way as my tamer. No to Focus, I don't see its benefits being worth it. High damage dealt to you is too fast and high, to make focus worth it. Focus would work if it was a drawn out battle, but in hoping itll help keep u alive in those desperate situations, I wouldn't count on it, or waste my points on it. Ninjitsu Ive never used so I cant really comment much on it fairly, but it does have its uses. You might want to look at bushido... for evasion or confidence... but then again youd prob want parry, to up your chances with those skills. Confidence being useless enless you happen to parry at the time that paragon targets and swings at you.... with no parry, I dont know how many times it would end up saving you. But evasion stance...may help you...? Although Im unsure how well it works without parry trained... Bushido was just a quick thought. I thought Evasion could work for what your trying to do...but parry could be the issue...maybe if you went50/50 or 60/40 or something...anyway... But Im not sure what I would do.... Ive thought of going 120Taming 120Lore 110Vet 110[120]Magery 90Eval 100[90]Med 90Spellweaving or Necro maybe... or variations .. like making him more mage than tamer by going 120Taming 110[100]Lore 100[90]Vet 120Magery 100[120]Eval 100Med 90Spellweaving your probably best sticking with what you have now truthfully. BUT for the reason you want to drop Eval it makes sense, and my best suggestion would be to pick up wrestling, or take hiding. Those are 2 skills that can save you from being eaten or killed, and may accomplish what your trying to achieve. Wrestling can be a great defensive skill if your good enough at it. And hiding is instant unlike "An Lor Xen". |

![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? I have 2 legendary wrestlers and mage weapon is pretty much the exact same thing except I don't have to put a skill towards it. I meant focus for when my dragon is getting pounded by spawn and I start running out of mana. It might help or something. Ninjitsu was for the clean gettaway I just didn't know if something has changed or it would be worth it. I very rarely use offensive spells other than when I'm taming something and even then ev's could do the trick which is why I was considering getting rid of it for another skill. I would do parry but you need 80 dex to get the maximum benefits from that skill. |

![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? I run close to your template, but I max some things at 110 so I can keep some spirit speak so I can boost my necro and get into wraith form. |

![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? the only skills you would get any use out of would be animal form and mirror image. Seems kind of like a waste to me, but I have to admit the running speed would be so nice to have when toting around a greater dragon or having both the beetle and mare fighting at the same time. Spellweaving and Archery are both worth looking into. I kind of envy your template the way you have it though. You can do a lot of damage outside of your pets with Eval and Med. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? I loved EI on my tamer. I love weaving more. Haven't tried archery yet. Discord and music are also pretty brilliant, and they give you something to do while you're watching your dragon eat things. |

![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? I think GH is based on magery alone. When I had spellweaving on my tamer the only spells I really used often were gift of life, gift of renewal, and word of death at peerlesses. Attunement and ethereal voyage also get an A+ for usefulness. Gift of life had to be my favorite. My favorite tamer template is definitely discord tamer. Useless for pvp, but pretty much a god of pvm. Last edited by muscle_n_flow; 4th July 2008 at 01:05 AM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Drop Eval for another skill? And I'm certain that EI has no effect on healing. It also has no effect on mind blast or poison, leaving those as your only offensive spells. But that's ok, since your pet is the one who does most of the damage anyway. Additional useful weaving spells: Essense of wind: Great for spawn areas with a lot of low level creatures. Just get everything on your pet then cast EoW to clear them out quickly. EXTREMELY useful for champ spawning. Wildfire: Great for its ability to interrupt spells, but the damage output isn't amazing and it sucks a lot of mana. Not as useful as EoW, but still useful. Thunderstorm: Good for its side effect. It reduces fast cast recovery of your opponent. Not especially useful in most cases. Not useful (as a tamer): Immolate weapon: I have yet to find a situation where this is more useful than other spells which use less mana Summon fiend/fey: If you're doing it right, you already have all of your control slots in use by your pet(s). Reaper form: Slows you to a walk, but it does have some use, but only when you're certain not to get attacked and you want the extra damage output that reaper form gives you. And I've heard that a disco tamer can take on anything and win. But I don't have one, so I can't confirm it. (My favorite spell: gift of renewal. In combination with a pet and EoW, it helps to clear areas VERY quickly.) |
