crazy 775 skill point template

I've always loved barding skills. Discordance is probably my favorite skill in UO. My disco tamer was probably my most effective PvM character. I started playing around with provoke, and loved it too. I set out to make a Disco/Provo tamer.

Unfortunately, the bard skills are only useful at 120 for high end PvM. What was a poor soul like me to do? It was becoming nothing but a faraway dream. Then I searched through my items and found some interesting jewelry.

So I considered how many points these would give me in combination with other items. I had originally planned to use the song woven mantle for +10 music, but decided against it because I need all the armor spots I can get for other mods. I went with the +10 taming skills talisman, and most likely the Tome of lost knowledge. Combined, this is an extra 70 points.

120 music (108 real)
120 provoke (109 real)
120 discord
114 taming (109 real)
100 lore (84 real)
110 vet (99 real)
106 magery (91 real)

Should I decide the weapon spot needs to be used for something else (like boomstick or clainin's spellbook) then I will drop back down to 100 vet and just have around GM magery. The suit will be pretty hard to build. I'm going to aim for 2/5 casting, 60s resists, 100 LRC, 40 LMC, and around 10 MR, aside from all the skill bonuses. My only worry is that I will hate how slow my mana regenerates.

Hopefully this character will be able to solo doom pretty well with a greater dragon. Now I have to go farm greater dragons to find a keeper... just thought I'd share this.

Helm of swiftness will give you a little boost to FC/FCR, but it isn't good for much else...

Re: crazy 775 skill point template

I'll be using the chaos shield for FC/FCR. I'll only have 5 FCR. Some say they don't notice a difference between 5 and 6, I hope that's the case for me.

Also, I just noticed that the control calculator I was using was horribly outdated (the one from the Pacific Rangers guild site). So I'm using Noxins now and I'll adjust the template accordingly.

Re: crazy 775 skill point template

Ooooh... nice. I'm about to finish up my theif/mage template and my skills are at 790. Gotta have the burglar's bandana and shadow dancer leggings, as well as my alchemist bauble for +10 magery and my ring with eval +10 and 3/1. If I could just get a ring with +10 med and +10 eval I'd have 800 skill points with something like this:

Magery 120
Eval 120
Med 120
Stealing 120
Stealth 120
Snooping 100
Hiding 100

Re: crazy 775 skill point template

Hmm... I tried making a thief back in the day, but got utterly confused and didn't know what to do because I have no thief friends. I need to start one of those someday.

But to stay on topic: let's just hope they don't nerf skill bonuses. If they ever decide to somehow nerf the people using Vamp form with only 30 Necro (though admittedly I have one of them too), I hope it doesn't affect this character.

Re: crazy 775 skill point template

Why stealth at 120? Isn't it just as good at 80'ish?

If you decide that ring is too heavy for your fingers send it my way and I'll put it to good use

Yeah, you'll need to find some decent armor to make up for it, but really, if it's a tamer, you can get away with having a lack of resists (50's) and slow mana regen.

I ran something like

115 Taming
115 Vet
115 Lore
115 Music
115 Peace
115 Disco
60 Magery (45 Natural)

The swapped out jewelry (Disco was 90 natural) when needed to get to higher Magery when I needed to gate.

Thanks again Maddux!

Mostly purely for my own skill training enjoyment... I'm not sure why I do it, but I find it rewarding to max out a template even if skill over a certain point is useless. Maybe it'll be useful to have 120 after some patch someday, haha.

Also, for some reason I seem to remember it affecting success at snooping while hidden. I could be wrong on this, but in my head 80 stealth with leather armor made it possible to walk around 100% of the time but I would pop out of stealth while snooping backpacks.

Anyways, good luck with the tamer!!

For some reason, I get the feeling you don't want it for the +11 Vet.

It took me a while to realize that a 1/3 with 16 LRC and 11 resist is actually worth something.
