ok peeps last time i played white wyrm was the pet to have many of the vs the ancient wyrm ^_^. things changed so whats the new pet to have?

Guess every tamer has there prefrence but a rune beetle seems to be pretty popular. Not sure it will stay that way with the last publish

Cu Sidhe, Cu Sidhe, Cu Sidhe. Get one trained up and they are killing machines. Second choice for me is a beetle/mare combo, third choice is a WW.

agreed, agreed and agreed. Depending on the situation choice one or choice 2 was acceptable after latest patch cu still gets the lovin!

What does the new patch do that makes cu's rock so much?

It nerfs the rune beetle yet leaves the cu alone

ermm... not to be annoying but how does it nerf the beetl?

beetles armour curropt was adjusted to the 50% that I believe it was supposed o be all along down from 100%

BUT once you weigh the reptalon against the two other 4 slot pets (CU and Hiryu), it is far less able than either. The breath attack, although fearsome, actually dsirupts it's combat strike, so it does even less damage over time. The Cu and Hiryu specials do not interrupt attacks.
When you weigh their stats, the CU and Hiryu have the COMPLETE edge there too. IN fact, at max stat, max skill, combat damage looks like this (considering opponent is 0 resists)

reptalon 80-107
Hiryu 88-132
CU Sidhe 86-115


When you look at total # of resists, the reptalon is in second, but only 15 points above the hiryu.

For the fire steed, remember that it is the most difficult tamed pet one can get. One would ASSUME that this meant it was relatively more powerful than any other two slot pet, on the same level as a dragon for instance. BUt it has no magery, and no special attacks (than fire breath), no skill bonus (resisting spells is not a HUGE deal), etc. . WHich makes it overall less useful than the mare. The pack instinct attack would be nice, if the steed had better resists to allow it to attack with out getting mauled in the process.
