Treasure Hunter template advice

Hi all. I am in the process of making a treasure map hunter & MIB hunter, for the fun of it. I currently am working on fishing with another character, but plan to transfer that via soulstone to a new character. Here is what my 'plan' is so far, as far as skills goes:

GM Fishing
GM Cartography (needed for map reading, right?)
GM Lockpicking
?? Enough magic skill to use telekinesis, (maybe summon water ele's as I have read here?)
GM Archery
?? Anatomy
?? Parry?

Also, I am looking at an even distribution of STR, DEX & INT.

How does this look to play out over the life of my treasure hunter? Should I change my distributions? Add/subtract skills?

Thank you very much for your advice!

Re: Treasure Hunter template advice

I can give it a try..i am by no means an expert lol..been running a T-Hunter for 4yrs with this template:

120 Music
120 Peace
110 Magery
100 Cart
100 Lock Picking
100 Med
90 Eval

With this template I can solo LVL 6 maps without a problem.Locate Chest ,Cast 2 Ev,Dig up chest ,Inv Before Spawn Pops,Area Peace and Move off and just keep sending Ev until Spawn is dead ,then work chest.

If i get in trouble just area peace and run lol.

The Mage Template T-Hunters seem to do better. Not sure how you would fair with a GM Archer against an Ancient Wyrnn.

Sorry I dont do MIBS I get sea sick.

Anything i can do to help out let me know.

I think you are on your way with your build, but I would like to ask have you begun building your runebooks collection that you are going to need for every treasure map location? It can not hurt now to get all those locations marked for when you complete your training.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment

Re: Treasure Hunter template advice

This guy is going to be an all around treasure hunter, so I need to be a fisherman. The archery is for not getting hit.

Building the runebooks... Not a bad idea at all. It will be a while until I can get all these to reasonable levels, so now would be a good time. Too bad the character with magery on it is such a pathetic alchemy geek - never sees the sun, hehehe.

Thanks y'all.

Re: Treasure Hunter template advice

Actually, if you look around, on most fairly populated shards you can find runebook libraries for treasure hunters. Check Stratics to see if the Treasure Hunters of Britannia have a rune library on you shard. If they do, they will have runes to the exact spot of every treasure map there is, both Tram and Fel, eliminating the need for you to do this. Huge time saver.

Excellent strategy...

Why do you need eval in this template?

I'm betting it's with jewels. Also, I would probably take eval on that as well, for ebolting the spawn to help the evs.

@Gryphonuo:

I'd pull Eval Int off for provoke or discord, and drop Med to 80. Your EVs will really tear up discorded monsters.

Depending on your real skill levels, you can boost provoke to 120 easily with jewels and a fishing pole!
