It's not much good for a pure mage, granted, but we're talking about Sampires. Sampires <3 Darkwood Madrid, care to weigh-in here with your Sampire stories? ~M |

![]() | Re: Vampire Form Gives 20% Life Drain... If you have the jewels and the armor.. a Artifact suit is the way to go.. Spirit of the Totem and Fey Leggings... if you can't get the resists for Vamp Form outside of that... then the darkwood suit works decetly ... I guess I consider it the poor mans suit *shrugs* |

![]() | Re: Vampire Form Gives 20% Life Drain... VE is a toggle spell, you cast it to enter vampire form and again to return to a normal form. It has drawbacks, -25 fire resist so you need 95 FR on a suit to max out fire resist and garlic based spells damage yourself. What you get in my opinion far exceeds the drawbacks: 20% life leech with each hit, automatically cures "most" poisons not to mention the 15 stamina regeneration. So if you do a total of 100 damage to a mob that's 20 hp you leech. The fact that you can buy arties, rings and a totem to cast vamp form which requires 90 necromancy probably means that they will nerf this one. -Immortal |

![]() | Re: Vampire Form Gives 20% Life Drain... Well, I just did a little soul stoning and removed healing from my template to have: 120 mace 120 parry 120 bushido 120 anatomy 120 tactics 65 chiv 30 points spare i smashed the crap out of poor Irk i think better with this120 anat/tacs combo, i did get a little worried about dying for a moment, twice, but that was out of 8 Irk's, mostly i was just tossing it around like a rag doll. but after i got irk's brain the spiders of course only took 2 secs and before you knew it I was in to DreadHorn. Smashed him ok. never looked like dying, i did assist with a few total stamina pots, enhanced apples and spamming divine fury so i had 30% ssi on my weap + the 10% and my 169 stma (139 when cursed) was still heaps fast enough to keep me constantly healed. I think it took about 30 minutes for the whole thing (leaving house returning to house;p) That was fun ![]() Unfortunately, and maybe i will bring bad news to some people here who are unaware, vamp form is going to be 'kicked in the nuts' in terms of using it in this template. OSI are going to nuke it very soon, this was said at the latest Townhall. Anyhow, I want to look at ways of soloing the DH with this character but without vampire embrace. I have a good ruby mace, 3s, with life, mana and stamina leech, but no ssi. I already solod DH with this too. but ofcourse I had two life leeches going with it from vamp form plus the weapon. Anyway, I want to try this weapon without the vampire embrace. I am not sure yet how I will go , might be too slow and not leech enough life. I do have the assassin armor set which gives +20% ssi, so that could perhaps give me the boost I need however I will need to compensate for hci/dci/lmc etc. Last edited by goatmaster; 29th July 2008 at 09:37 AM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Vampire Form Gives 20% Life Drain... Indeed - I finally jumped on the Sampy bandwagon, now it's getting the nerf beats. Ah well, I will continue to adapt and UO will continue to produce overpowered templates. I do find it interesting, however, that they would be so interested in nerfing something that is purely PvM. I don't think Sampires do so well in PvP...no resist... ~M |

I believe many PVPers are crying over vamp form simply because its a template where you can solo the big things, and no one appears to want this UNLESS you have a Samurai! Vamp form/Samurai in PVP is just not very good nor popular. Fortunately I have had mine for a couple months, although just 'pretty much completed' my suit last week and now this. I spent 25mil on a Necromancy Mark of Travesty too ![]() HOWEVER lets not jump the gun.... Who knows to what effect they will nerf it. Lets just hope they leave us with at least something...otherwise it is good bye to this classic template. Lets hope they don't nerf it to the past. It's just utterly stupid that people can abuse game mechanics in this manner and get benefits of skills that they don't have (not from skills, not from jewelry). Either you have the skills or you don't, simple. However I do agree that warrior templates (or dexxers, whatever) do need SOMETHING. It's just that it should be something that makes sense and comes more naturally to the templates, not abusing the silly skill item system. Sorry to derail the original thread subject somewhat, this matter just annoys me. How can anyone think the current vamp form situation is perfectly fine and sensible? Like, what if you could put on a bunch of +stealth items, go into stealth, take off the items and stealth on forever? Or put on items, equip a bow, take off items and shoot like you had 120 archery? It's the same principle, and just as daft. ![]() ![]() | |
