![]() | Re: Samurai Templates I'm having a hard time finding good armor and weapons.... moved from dispise to titans and cyclops and they are pounding me.... I am now 105 str and 105 dex and 27 int. im having a hard time with other mobs that use magic too as they eat my mana and stanima. to be honest I see way lesser skill point players wrecking these mobs and im a 6X gm and 40 in resist and 45ish in Chiv and it shows grandmaster healer in my paperdoll but I cant stay alive long enough to tell you what hit me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Samurai Templates silverleak, what shard are you playing? If you are on GL I will be happy to try and help you out. One thing you definately want is as much DI on your stuff as you can muster....although the LMC stuff is great, if you have a good mana leech weapon, it is not critical. At your stage I'd give up LMC for DI, if my weap was decent. DI however, allows you to increas your damage against mobs. I guess I'd like you to tell me what weaps you're currently using and what armor/jewels you have. You're skill are solid enough that you should be able to at least take down titans and cyclops if not flat out pimp slap em lol. Incorporating DI, HCI and DCI in your template will help. That is why I'd like to know EXACTLY what you have on your character. And if you are on GL, please let me know, as I have a fair amount of decent armor laying around I'm never going to use....I'd rather give it to someone that is trying to learn than see you go back to WOW. ![]() | Re: Samurai Templates Hi JFK. I'm currently playing on a free server atm. A UOGAMERS server I forget which one. That aside I am not sure of your abbreviations. What does DI and such stand for... Here is my current weapon and I have tried many. - No-Dachi (slow speed but good phys reflect. also my armor is anything I can find. A mismatch of stuff as I don't quit understand all the specs. Wish I could go more into detail but Ive been up 2 days straight getting 100 str mining and 100 dex snooping pack llamas so I'm beat. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Samurai Templates Okay, you don't talk about freeshards here. That is forbidden for good reason. My abbreviations are DI=Damage Increase...this is capped at 300% in player vs. monster. The higher your DI, the more damage you do with each hit. Typically, weapons hit for nothing to ~50+% of their "base damage" which is the normal damage they do. If you have 40% DI on your weap, and it normally hits for approximately 10 damage, you will hit for 10+40% or around 14 with it instead. DI can be incorporated not only on your weap, but in your jewels and certain armor pieces as well. Maximize your DI...very important. LMC is Lower Mana Cost, and as you figured out in an earlier post, the more you have the better, though it is capped at 40%. This lowers the mana "cost" of doing things like specials. The more LMC you have, the more specials you can run on a given mana amount...also good. HCI and DCI are Hit Chance Increase and Defense Chance Increase...HCI affects your ability to hit your opponent and DCI affects you ability to avoid being hit...the more the better with both...45 is max for each. Again, jewelry/weaps/certain items can affect either or both of these stats. These are some of the major factors to consider when you put your template together. Obviously, there are others....hit lower defense, hit lower attack, etc. etc., but these are the basics you want to master first. At your skill level, with good armor/weaps, with DI, HCI, DCI, LMC and some mana regen, you should be owning the mobs you discussed. These are the items to be looking for when you consider re-doing your armor/weaps. I would also suggest you get on a pay shard ASAP...you will find many more helpful people than tools laughing at you. As an FYI, my PvM dexxer is not a samurai, he is more chivalry based with GM resist on him. He'll take a titan down in under 5 seconds. I would expect your template to do the same. Oh, and when you're taking damage from a mob, don't forget to cast "evasion" as it will seriously help you avoid taking damage. But mostly...honor, engage, lightning strike, lightening strike, lightning strike 'till dead lol. If you have some chivalry, consecrate weapon, divine fury and enemy of one are EXTREMELY usefull spells to set macros for.Last edited by jfk; 17th May 2008 at 05:52 PM. |

![]() | Re: Samurai Templates Thx JFK. I wanst sure how all the new changes would be entertaining so I had to try it out first and I can already tell you having only 100-300 people playing on a free server at a time is BORING so my GF and I are going to goof around a bit then get a UO EA account. I actually think I can reactivate mine from back in 1998- I hope. But after reading your combat strats I'm curious which yeilds better results with Damage and less use of mana between Lighting Strikes vers Chivakry skills...? - Silverleak |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Samurai Templates Enemy of one does double damage, BUT you take double damage from every other mob that isn't your EOO. Consecrate weapon focuses all your damage against the enemies weakest resist, which can be very useful. Divine fury ups your ssi, di, and stamina at the cost of some defense chance. All in all, both bush and chiv are useful...neither is "best", it depends on your template, armor and playstyle. I use both, often on the same char. |

![]() | Re: Samurai Templates Well Ive given up on Chiv as it wasnt really as helpful a Id hope. it ate up more mana than than give good results. I GMed Focus in 1 day and from reading it sounds like focus helps give back mana and stam. Only bad thing now is I have zero resist. Should I GM Resist and if so what do I give up? |

![]() | Re: Samurai Templates One of my issues with not going back to a EA UO server is when I go down to any dungeon say Dispise where Orge Lords are in hordes I see some player using Natures Furry killing them all so fast and easy and I can kill one solo let alone 8 at a time. This makes me really feel the game has become unbalanced and unless your a neg/mage or tamer it's hard getting all the good loot. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Samurai Templates I have yet to see Nature's Fury take down an Ogre lord "so fast and easy". They will take them down, but not nearly as fast as my dexxer. Get a Soulseeker (repond slayer), enemy of one, consecrate 'till dead. Lather rinse and repeat. I haven't seen a mage that can take them down as fast as a solid dexxer (no not saying they don't exist, but I haven't seen them). The only mage I have that comes close is my spellweaving/inscription mage with an ogre slayer scrapper's. I think you need to finish your template, get some GOOD armor/weaps, and then practice. You will be surprised how easy it gets. |

![]() | Re: Samurai Templates JFK, ok I will stick with my Sammie. However do you think it was wise to let CHiv go down as well as Resist to make room for focus? Focus sure gives me lots of mana to just sit and hammer lighting strike. Only thang is their magic mobs like titians get me good. Also do you think I should go fencing rather than Swords as I see a lot better Fencing weapons out. |
