Returning Vet Needing template help
Hello all, I am a returning vet from the overly dark ages
![]() In fact, I left shortly after the whole scrolls of power thing came out. I am returning now but I need help with a build that fits a rather constrained bit of roles. RP (Yes my character RP wise is a Paladin with excellent swordsman skills, Bushido does work with this just as long as I am still using some chivalry) PVP (I need to find something solid for PVP because alot of my RP stuff does stem into PVP, besides PVP is a big part of UO )PVM (I plan on doing Champions spawns, among many other things, not to mention there are always events going on too) --------- All in all I need a Paladin who is an exceptionally talented swordsman. I've narrowed it down to 8 skills but still dunno where to go from here. Swordsmanship Tactics (This is still required isn't it?) Healing Anatomy Parry Focus (Not sure how it works exactly) Bushido (Important) Chivalry (Important) ------- Any thoughts for a powerful all around build with these? Also, my current stats are 85 str, 60 dex, 80 int. Any idea for how I should alter these? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! |

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
That will work. Since you are RP, then you will need focus for mana regen, since you will most likely not be allowed to use mana leech weapons.

Dont see why I wouldn't be allowed to use mana leech ?

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
Some guilds, like on europa, have rules against using items. A copy of those rules is in the PvP forum. If your RP does not (have these rules), then that will help you out a ton. Course, can always RP a reason to use items when fighting monsters, but not people.
The normal (min/max) template using your skills looks something like this: 120 Swords 90 Anatomy 100 Tactics 90 healing 76 Chivlary 120 Bushido 120 parry

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
Hmm
715 skills though... Is that the new max? I thought it was 700 (or is there a power scroll for +15) Also what should my stats be for this build? |

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
You get an additional 5 points (up to 20) for each year the account ages. So a four year account can have 720 skill points.

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
I'd go with:
120 swordsmanship 120 parrying 120 bushido 100 tactics 100 anatomy 90 healing 70 chivalry That's for having a 4 year account with a 720 skill cap. If you have less, go a bit less on the parry for now. Reasons are: 120 Swordsmanship: Best chance of hitting (especially when combined with Hit Chance Increase, which maxxes out at 45). 120 Bushido: Higher skill = higher chance for a crit. 120 Parry: Best chance to block a swing 100 Tactics: Don't really need any higher. The difference between 100 and 120 is maybe 1-2 damage per swing after computing the target's resists. 100 Anatomy: Same thing as tactics, and add to that you don't need any higher for curing any poison, resurrecting, and you still heal relatively the same amount of damage as with 120. 90 Healing: Get yourself a couple of fountains of life and keep them stocked with bandages. Enhanced bandages effectively raise your healing skill by 10 (just during the use of that bandage). With GM healing, you have a 50% chance of ressing, and about a 95% chance of successfully curing lethal poison. Deadly poison and below is no problem. No point in taking it higher, save your skill points. 70 chivalry: The only spells you don't have a 100% chance of casting at this level are Enemy of One, Holy Light and Noble Sacrifice. Enemy of one you still have about a 65% chance of casting (just a guess based on experience, this is very similar to my dexxer temp), so just try twice. That spell is only useful in PvM anyway, which isn't commonly a do-or-die situation. Holy Light is useful for champ spawns, so carry some +15 chiv jewelry (ring and bracelet) and a luna lance (+10 chiv, very cheap) and keep them insured. Then any time you're doing the first two levels of just about any spawn, you just change your ring and bracelet and put on the luna lance, and holy light spam away. Same story for Noble Sacrifice. Just switch the items over to raise you to 110 real skill and do your noble sacrifice. |

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
Well unfortunately, I am a returning vet but I have a new account now. I had no way to recover my old account (didn't really care to do so either).

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
Then just take parry to GM for now. That'll give you plenty of time to save up for the 120 scroll

Re: Returning Vet Needing template help
Assuming a 225 stat cap for now:
125 dex, with items to get you to 140 dex. This will give you max healing speed. Then try to find armor with stmaina bonus to get you to 150. This will give you max swing speed. Strength, 80. The new formula should give you 98 HP. When you get money for a stat scroll, dump the points into STR (target is 100 for max damage increase bonus) 25 INT. You can boost this with armor with mana increase, and jewlery with intelligence increase.
