![]() ![]() ![]() | What to drop - med or focus? I have this half trained mage character - I intend to make him a pure Mage/Spellweaver for PvE. My Skills at the mom are: Focus 110 Eval 110 Magery 110 Resisting Spells 68 (planned 100-120) Meditation 110 Spellweaving 105 Hiding 83 (still in training too) I'm not too unhappy with this template, I'm just considering to include Inscription for more Spelldamage Increase (how much is it at GM level btw?) and do not know what to drop for it. I figured I propably don't need focus and meditation both, but am not sure which one to lose... Any recommendations? Last edited by Merion; 13-12-2007 at 08:20 AM. |

![]() | Re: What to drop - med or focus? stolen from uo stratics: inscription adds 10% bonus damage to the following spells at Grandmaster level: * Magic Arrow * Harm * Fireball * Lightning * Energy Bolt * Explosion * Chain Lightning * Flamestrike * Meteor Swarm The potency of the following spells mainly depends on the caster's inscription skill: * Reactive Armor: Increases caster's Physical Resistance by ((Inscription / 20) + 15) points, decreases caster's Fire, Cold, Energy and Poison Resistance by 5 points each. Lasts until cast again. * Protection: Allows you to cast spells without being interrupted. Lowers physical resistance and resist magic skill, increases spell casting delay. Excellent for mages that like to use Harm or Poison since those spells are more potent if you stand next to your victim. Also allows you to cast Greater Heals without the need to run away first. Lasts until cast again. * Magic Reflect: Decreases caster's Physical Resistance by (25 - (Inscription / 20)) points, increases caster's Fire, Cold, Energy and Poison Resistance by 10 points each. Almost opposite of Reactive Armor spell. Lasts until cast again. I have an inscript mage and have med and no focus...

![]() ![]() | Re: What to drop - med or focus? Drop focus. Stay in medable armor with decent MR and get yourself an ankh pendant and head off to honesty shrine for an hour or two +3 MR boost. I can quickly max out at MR 11 without sacrificing other key suit attributes like LMC or resists. |

![]() | Re: What to drop - med or focus? focus should almost always be secondary to med. For comparison 10 points of med ~ 1 MR 20 points of focus ~ 2 Stam reg & 1 MR so at cap you are getting 12 MR from med and only 6 MR from focus. Stam reg is nice for but not nearly as important, plus with the new changes in the game with diminished returns you'll want to stack that MR as high as you can as well as having above 100 med preferably 120 med. |
