Hi,

I've just started down the path of spellweaving and in a couple of hours I now have a spellweaving book, Arcane Circle / Gift of Renewal and Summon Fey, Spellweaving up to 34ish now and going up as fast as I can get it.

I'm a 5 x GM Mage and I'm wondering if it's really worth me adding this to my template, I used to have Barding skills but I've transfered those now to another char on my account because I wanted to expand them into a full Bard char which is why I now have room for anothe area on my mage and spellweaving seemed like a reasonable choice, although as with all these things I would value other peoples opinions on the skill and if it's worth taking to GM given the hassle I think it will involve getting all the spells.

It seems to be a great skill. It is mana intensive from what I have heard but being on a mage. Shouldn't be a problem for you. As with all skills you will find some spells very useful and others not so much. Finding other spell weavers within 20 skill of the caster can really help the arcane focus (?). Which I have been told is really a boost.

btw most of the scrolls will be found as monster loot on the newer monsters.

It has great potential. Lady Destiny of LS is one of our more expert spell weavers. You can find her other posts by going to memebers list, checking out the profile, and then select view all posts. She has unique apporach to it.

IMO, one of the most underused spells is dryad allure. You can actually charm an artic ogre lord to fight for you. These guys are amazing in the right situation. (dread horn). They save a ton of mana over time from casting EV's, freeing up extra time for casting WOD.

Word of death is supposedly destructive ( I have seen screenshots of damage around 1800). Need a max focus, and high SDI.

Another underused (but mana intensive) spell is arcane empowerment. Use that on the AOL.

Try to get 40 LMC, huge amounts of MR (I am trying to find out the new formula for MR), and int boost.
