Trial of Ricardo
I've only recently realised that the Ricardo trial is repeated at different times, but I've not been able to find what the times are. All I have been able to find is that on Europa shard it runs at 11am PST, which I make as 7pm gmt (8pm cet), and that someone who is well-placed to know told me that it is run several times a day.
I've a character who has a particular interest in the way justice is is/not dispensed and he's camped out at the Courts of Justice hoping to see the trial for the last day or so. He wakes up every now and then to look, but so far has not seen any action. Does someone have a list of the times during the day the re-run on Europa is done? And roughly how long the trial lasts? |

Re: Trial of Ricardo
I believe the trial runs once every two hours, and lasts about one hour if I remember correctly.

Re: Trial of Ricardo
Ah that makes it even better. Thanks, Araidius
Unfortunately, it seems as if the trial of Ricardo isn't being re-run any more, perhaps because of the recent patch. But its all still there and is worth having a look. Entering the courtyard of the Court of Truth there are some curious mounts standing, looking a bit like large cows. Nearby the entrance to the court is a group of demonstrators chanting slogans and demanding that Ricardo is innocent and be released. Passing these you come to the doorward, a woman who asks you to deposit all weapons. You can access your bank box from here. There is also a stablemaster who can stable your mount. Having left all your weapons with the doorward (i.e. put them in your bank box) you can go through a longish windowless corridor, lit by flambeau cressets, to a guard who frisks you. If you have a weapon of any sort you wont be let into the courtroom, you will have to go back and deposit it (Jern had forgotten he had a weapon in his yellow bag so had to return to deposit it. But he also had his smith's hammer with him and that wasn't allowed either, so he had to go back twice). If you are clean you are let in and find yourself allocated a seat (only 120 capacity for the public). There you will see the tableau of characters, the defendant, lawyers, bailif, sheriff and others, and on one side a jury of 12. Jern missed out on the actual trial but hopes there will be a transcript available (don't suppose anyone has got one?). Anyway, worth a visit while its still there. A bit of pure roleplaying from the providers of UO - great stuff! |
