Stealing

Now im all for thieves and all for stealing from players, but over the last few days ive noticed a slightly odd trend. Thieves walking past you emoting *brushes past* and stealing randomly from your pack!

Bare in mind i carry a yellow bag on Raul, stuffed with jewels and gold. But what is the point? I mean if a theif is gonna just use his stealing skill and then just click on me, its totally random and pointless carrying a bag at all. Bare in mind also this is being done at Britain bank and someone could easily loose a valuable item this way!

Re: Stealing

If an item is insured can it still be stolen?

I agree, what is the point of having a yellow bag. But to steal from the yellow bag specifically would the theif need to snoop you? Maybe a yellow bag is only of worth if you have been knocked and someone loots you?

It is an area I have not explored so do not really know the game mechanics.

Re: Stealing

Snoop ok, whats wrong with that? I mean it takes time and a little more skill, but isnt that the challenge for a thief?

The yellow bag from my understanding is the only place you steal from and can indeed also be looted if you are knocked.

Re: Stealing

That has always been the idea of the Yellow bag but people have been slacking actualy carrying them and it's likely newer thieves are ill informed of the ruleing (which was infact only a CoRE that many guilds took onboard aswell).

Rules will be back in the limelight soon i'm sure so we'll see what happens next.

Re: Stealing

As i said elsewhere...

Just an FYI to all in vesper on the beach is a RP vendor house.
There is one vendor who sells yellow bags for just this some empty dome with a few everyday items in them kindleing lanterns a bed roll etc.

I agree with raul it is a break in the rules and should any of the thieves guilds be known then they GM's be told. Though it is also good to be posted on the public boards (since there is no nameing or finger pointing) if nothing else but a reminder to all the rogues and thieves out there that there is a rule in place and should any steal from my main pack especially something of major value I will kill them for it. The yellow bag rule is there for just this situation. What if what they randomly stole at an atrie of some such or something of great money value? This is wrong and should be posted as a reminder.

I was under the impression that banks and inns were safe/offlimits.
I can't think of any reason to steal randomly from anyones pack at BRIT bank of all places to be anything other than done for ill reasons. imho

Solonoid- Yes they would have to and should snoop before stealing.
Hence also the reason that you MUST as per the rules have atLEAST 70 snooping to be allowed to steal from another Warred player. What they do in fel is up to them but this is not what is done here and there are rules to prevent such acts and GM's should be inforceing it.
Also it is not fair to have to force someone to waiste money everytime they put something in their pack At the BANK of all places.

I think people are missing the a major point i'm seeing and this is WHERE it occured

Re: Stealing

- All players must carry a yellow bag in which items available for looting or stealing must be kept. In addition to one or more items from this bag, food, drink, gems, and up to 1000 gold coins may be taken per victim.

A reminder

Re: Stealing

Who would want to steal from an Undead anyway. No sane person would attempt to sneak up to an undead and peek their bones.

Re: Stealing

I dunno, someone doing the *brushes past* thing makes a lot more RP sense to me than someone being all over you like a rash for five minutes. Is it really that big a deal? is anyone carrying uninsured light-weight 5mill items on them around all the time or something? (please put down your names here if you are, I need a little gold atm =P)

At WEST BRIT BANK? They might be. Are you missing this point? Cause I'm not.

Re: Stealing

I didn't see any mention of WBB in rauls posts, but hey, he might be writing in invisible ink or something. It seems as if he were just making a general comment about thieves everywhere. Plus, unless WBB is off limits for RP, I don't really see how it's relevent anyway.

If your point is "ITS TEH ROOLZ" then fair enough, it is, and by the letter of the law, they shouldn't be doing it. But !!!, people shouldn't really be surprised if others are not adhering precisely to PROTOCOL(tm) given the ammount of hoops you have to jump through if you're playing a thief.

PS
!!! !!! !!!, how come t-b-h is censored? =P
