Questions regarding animal form & polymorph!

Hi all,

This post is designed mainly as a question to CoRE RPers about what would be acceptable for RP in CoRe rules.

I have recently created a tamer / mage with ninjitsu as a 7th skill. The aim of this was to use Wolf Form in RP PVP along with two tamed wolves, to simulate a wolf pack. Now, before ye start, i know...id be better off training a fighting skill instead of magery...but i havent

Anyways...I enjoy RPing as an animal, especially a dog or a wolf. My character progressed from dog to wolf as he got older, which i think is acceptable RP. However, there are times when i want to actually talk to people with my tamer, or use him as a tamer in RP contexts. Which of these is the most acceptable?

1) RP two different characters.
I was thinking of including on my player scroll information about the man and about the beast. So that in man form i could be addressed by my screen name, and in beast form i would be called whatever RPers wanted to name me. This was done by Bruce of -V-, who is bruce the man, but RPs Dave the dog.

2) Shapeshifters
In RP context i dont really like this idea, although it can make for interested cahracters, especially warewolves. I think many of the guilds in question wouldn't be too many with a player constantly switching forms, even if it was in RP.

3) Stick to one or the other.
What i mean by this is...the character is one entity, and is just taken for granted that they are now a wolf/bear/frog etc...

--------------------------------------------------------

I personally enjoy the first option, as RPing an animal is fun, but eventually you want to do other things than lick your own testicles!

Thanks
Ned Stark

ps - If i were to RP a Wolf using Ninjitsu, and had two hell hounds as my animals, would it be acceptable to cast Fireball? as if i was a hell hound?

Im sure it is quite restricting to not be able to speak, but thats why you have party chat.. My opinion if you want to Roleplay a dog, its permenant no coming out of shape unless you want to be a DOPPLEGANGER!!! we all love those You dont have to be a dog during non rp acitivty but just my thoughts on the opinion

Best Regards,

Tigurius

Best to keep in mind aswell that most of the animal forms are forbidden in RPvP _unless_ you are playing that form permanently.

There is no CoRE or CoRE rules. There are community rules now.

And why don't you just role play a good aligned demon while you're at it.

Re: Questions regarding animal form & polymorph!

Thats a bit mean, im simply asking what is the most acceptable proposal?

My original idea was to RP a wolf so we could use a wolf pack in Rpvp. Stormcrow correctly said that animal forms are only allowed if the character permenantly RPs that animal. Although there is sense in that rule, there are others who RP animals and people with the same cahracter, they are just RPed as if they are different characters. Thats all im asking?

Is it ok, to RP a wolf half the time, and a man the other half, with no IC links between the two characters!

I'd say RPing a wolf all the time is way more accepted than going back and forth like a drag Queen on a Friday night.

Go for the always a wolf thing, sounds more interested and fun.

I don't think you can cast spells in animal form. That answer your question?
