Planning an Event Step 3. Choosing Date and Time

Now that you have thought about your event and took the nessecary effort to start arranging it, you will have to choose your Date and Time.

A week has Seven Days (!!!). The current top hours for the Europa Shard are between 2000gmt and 0100gmt, so there is plenty of choice.

Don't make the mistake to plan an event on a day Because it fits you best !!! No !!! Look around first !!! There is an Event Calendar and an Event Announcement Board (Town Crier) on the Forum, you will do the Community a great favor if you plan your event on a day that preferably has no other events on it already. If that is not possible, then plan your event at least at a later time. Avoid arranging two events at the same time, because that other person who is also arranging an event on that day has, like you, put effort in his/her event as well.

(This post is especially for all the event makers that have to feel the frustration when they find out someone at a later time decided to have an event exactly on top of yours )

Vanqa it has to be said we cant all ,always ,plan our rp time not to clash with yours ,hun.The Trinsic Rose has three spots taken already ,and it would be hard for guilds in the North,to have an IC reason to be in Trinsic ,three times a week,really.

Hun you take up three nights a week at a great time. you can't expect to always be the only one that wants/needs that time.

If this wasn't "really" about one of your events or that prompted this than i take back the reference to the rose. but the fact remains that sometimes a person needs that day and time. and people need a choice sometimes veriety isn't a bad thing.

I can't count the times i have no IC reason or inclination to attend an event and am left to wander about because there is nothing else planned.
Choice is good. For example i've no IC reason to go to the rose at this time nor a tour of brittania but a play in spiritwood which are all on the same day does sound nice. thats one thing out of three if it were just the two former i'd be Sh!7 outta luck :/

The above message is a hint for people when they are arranging events to take a look at the calendar and the town crier before putting two events at the same day & time. Can't hurt to try and work together as a community right ?

and fyi i don't count my regular monday and friday shifts as events, as i only serve those days and not always do something special.

I caught what you were getting at VanQa, unfortunately I neither have the time to coordinate an event or attend one (in most cases).

But if I were, I would heed your warning well.

I think generally speaking we do well as a community, its not often things clash.

The odd small event clashing doesnt matter too much as it offers a choice.

Why does there have to be a culprit? Its been discussed, people are now aware of the issue, so why carry it on?

Nameing a culprit will only lead to the discussion going on and on and then possibly turning into a rant Its not like its a major offence, could just be a mistake...
