Re: F4g finally gone boom?

I am glad the ShadowCourt took the decision/time to move here. UOforums seems very stable in comparison. I dont think its as user friendly interface wise but it also has some features f4g does'nt.

Ideally all the RP community should be working from the same forum, as i believe that would help bind the community together. But other forces would still keep the community as fragmented as ever.

I hope they get their forums back soon though.

Yep, same error I get. I don't check F4G often anymore (or here tbh), but everytime I do, there seems to be a problem and it seems to be down or horribly slow.

Hiya, what would you say is lacking at UOforums regarding user friendlyness?

Re: F4g finally gone boom?

Uo forums friendliness :

- currently for me very slow
- navigating around the forums to me seems illogical and strange
- cant focus in enough on new posts in the section Im interested in - ie Europa RP
- I cant find my way around the Europa RP forums here very well

In general I like f4g.net and here as well - but f4g.net is a smaller easier to use set of forums where the "New Posts" relate to stuff Im interested in. Wheras here the new posts cover so many guilds, shards, topics that I find sifting throung them a pain in the rear.

Its horses for courses

f4g.net is small and intimate uoforums is large and impersonal/professional [i find]

Both are excellent and both server their purpose very well

Frankly I find myself less likely to view RP forums here than I do on f4g.net - simply because I find the interface here more cumbersome.

But then Im an old dog

and this is new tricks =P

Yar, I find f4g strangely easy to navigate. but that could be due to familiarity.

oh, one thing that would be handy is a link along the top that says forums. because if i go into my PMs i don't no how to get back to the forums without going through new posts... where as on f4g i just clicks forums and i go back to the forums

I'm working on a simple, yet effective "fix" for that

The fix will allow you to block all forums you don't care for and also the new posts created in them

So essentially, you'd be able to block everything except the roleplaying area.

So your screen when you visited UOforums, would look something like that in the screenshot attached below

Let me know if this is of use to ya.

Is it allways slow for you? where abouts are you based?
I'm in the UK myself and it's well....it's far from slow for me, it takes less than a second to load a page when I click a link

Well expect more and more people to come here Adam, seems F4g is down for yet another day. Even the hardcore users there must be getting tired of it now, im just glad i never renewed my f4g subs last month .
