Just that some people say,
"There are lots of drows over there!"
When it should be "There are lots of drow over there"
Just always been one of my minor annoyances when playing UO *grins*

Actually it should be "There are a lot of Drow over there!"

A lot in this case being singular not plural. And Drow being plural or singular.

Do you happen to remember the author's name? The main person I have read about drow was R. A. Salvatore too.

Re: Drow Race

And in fact it could be:

"There is a lot of Drow over there!"

As the lot is singular not plural.

But yes I digress - my own rule of thumb on role playing is - "Do what you want to do and be what you want to be" - if you do it convincingly then power to your backswing!

Its possible - like Venom d'Orsay to play a really deep character not necessarily good or evil. And there are plenty of others also like Shelly of CoC and then S-C. Not to mention the Darkcloaks.

Just do it and do it to the best of your ability!

Re: Drow Race

There are 6 different authors for all 6 books. RA Salvatore didn't write them himself, he just gave the authors assistance when they were writing them. Just do a search on amazon for War of the Spider Queen and all 6 novels should show. The good thing about those books is that the main characters all act like drow, they are not evil per se. It's an interesting approach as opposed to other books where the main characters are inherently "good".

Re: Drow Race

To Adri

Just to comfirm what Arius said, 6 books in the series, 6 different authors

To Stewan

A name for a collection of Drow, hmm a conceit of Drow might fit.

To Arius

You play a Drow at all Arius?

Actually 'There are lots of drow over there' is perfectly grammatically correct.

Will you eat your words here or would you like them to go?
