"Typical." Muldran muttered to himself, pulling on his new boots, "Just barely get away from there with a new perspective - and they're already asking me favours!"

He looked at himself in the mirror, and smoothed his hair. He started to snap his fingers to summon his spellbook to his hand, and then paused. He turned around, walked a few steps across his room, and then picked up the spellbook, tucking it into his belt.

He looked back to the mirror, "As if it wasn't bad enough having to put up with Kaelyn bossing me around, and taking pleasure in threatening to 'bid me off', I am in the unenviable position of going to her assistance!"

He bent down and swept the bag of reagents off the floor, quickly opening it and counting how many black pearl he had. He grinned to himself slightly as before, he'd magically tot up the totals.

A final glance to the mirror, "Right then - so Irvyn said she's recuperating in Tel'Mar - and that her... change of character happened shortly after that expedition to Montor... Shame I didn't go - might have to arrange another one to see if we can find out what she encountered."

Muldran turned, and left the room, stopping only to lift his staff from a corner of the room, shaking the dust of the item. "Don't know why I haven't used this recently..." he called back over the shoulder.

"Don't ask me." came the reply from the mirror, "I'm only a mirror."

The book lay on Muldran's text, a journal entry open for the curious to see.

"...in the Spiritwood Tavern. She accused me of Irvyn sending me to spy on her, but I did remind her that I had been serving in Trinsic for a week now, so had a 'get out of jail free' card.

I wasn't sure she was going to tell me anything; especially with the other people present. However, she did take me to one side, and suddenly - and I'm sure, quite out of the blue, for Kaelyn - she started to talk about the dreams that had bothered her.

Of course, my mind immediately jumped to those Dreamsenders, and worried flashes about a hang-over effect from the boxes... but no, Kaelyn was having a distinct experience; seeing Montor being destroyed. She'd been having the dreams since she found an amulet, half buried in the dirt there; during an expedition funded by the Umbra University.

The dreams had been continuing and if not getting worse, then the effect on Kaelyn had been growing more intense. She was finding it hard to sleep, and events happening in Trinsic (the crater invasion, the forces attacking the town) had made her waking hours more uncomfortable.

As we talked, she resolved to take the amulet back to Montor, and bury it there once more. She suggested that if she had not returned in a week, to send people to look for her body.

Fairly maudlin, that, but I suggested that if no one has seen her after three days, then we'd go to Montor ourselves..."
