Current UO client?

I've just downloaded and installed the UO Gold client which is Age of Shadows by the looks of it, but I've also seen a UO: Mondain's Legacy thing. Which is everyone using? It looks like Mondain's Legacy is the newer version but I don't know what it is?

Is this the Shadow Cat?

Well Im still using Age of Shadows - I never upgraded to Mondains Legacy or the other one - the Ninja and stuff expansion.

Mondains Legacy gives you elves and stuff

The other one gives you ninjas and bushido and some place called Tokuno islands or something.

Being honest Jessie you dont need the expansions yet - best to wait for Kingdom Reborn

Oh and welcome back if it is you you have been very very sorely missed.

Just to add that I think it is possible to use any old CD to install UO. On my return I used a Second Age one (a collectors item now) and it still worked, after about 4 hours patching..... You can also download a newer version from Uo.com, which needs less patching, either way you still end up with a working version....

I guess I also have to give up my aspirations to your Shadow Cat title. Sad, as I am getting a little tired of being a wandering ronin - Mul take note!

Hmm I'm having some trouble.
I downloaded "Ultima Online: Gold" from fileplanet and then renewed my existing UO account with 3 months worth of play.
Now it says "UO: Age of Shadows" when the game loads, yet I dont know how to upgrade my account so that I can travel to Malas.
Any ideas? Do I have to download a different AoS client maybe?

you need mondains legacy ideally. Thats the latest version with the elvish stuff in.

There are also some items that can only be used by people with Mondain's Legacy.

If your account says it is AoS you should be able to go to Malas. Malas was born with AoS. If it is anything before that you will not be able to go

. It will patch you to the latest client even if you can't use all the bells and whistles.
