Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

his is a quick notebook made by Cherry and Decardo whilst upon their travels across Sosaria. It is intentionally left very vague so if you have any questions to ask about specific encounters contect them IC in game.

Thursday 2nd June 2002

A person revealed themselves to us in Trinsic and came with us to speak in privately. This one is in service to one of the Elders and confirmed the fact verbally that Moiraine is of the Blood and that the Duke and Ikus are in liege with them as well. He will seek to bring us credible proof of this. He revealed much more information to that tied many things together. And once more the phrase Kahn and the Nine was used by him.

Friday 3rd June

Whilst speaking with Lord Dragonfist close by to the City walls of Trinsic we were set upon verbally by my old 'friend' Elias and his so called mate Jen Tremere. The verbal sparring attracted a big crowd and i think many thought we would come to blows by the two of us knew this was not our time.

Saturday 4th June

Headed to Naeloth and struck a deal with Garod. In return for research on my people he would allow me access to his library.

General notes (more complete version of this to come)
Much had happened within her since being released from the celestial beings...immediately Cherry had felt it deep at her core. Having travelled to ilshenar and talked with the Sister heading up the Order of Nuiduin, Cherry began to realise how the balance had altered within her and the Pool in Tel'mar. The energies were linked and fed through her, it mader her feel powerful but afraid at the same time - much needed to be learnt.

Moreover....Cherry had talked long with Ishtar about how the balance within their communities was slipping, the Darkness gaining ever more ground. This had only been confirmed by the spiralling events that she and Decardo had encountered since her return from Ilshenar. Together they would seek the Truth beneath the surface - no matter what personal cost to themselves.

Thursday June 2nd
Cherry travelled to Tel'mar wondering what reception she might receive - but regardless of how her fellow Cymry viewed her actions, Lann'al had come to Cherry the previous night and told her Callum lay injured in Tel'mar and the healer within Cherry would not leave someone beside the Pool to fade unattended.

With Barney beside her Cherry had done her best for Callum - she was a little stunned, though she tried hard not to show it, how much energy she had felt flow through her as she worked with the water from the Pool....at least she had warned Callum that the results could be unexpected.

As she watched Callum step through the glowing scarlet gate she could sympathise with Lucy's plea for him to rest but more than that she could understand Callum's desire to redress the balance....of what he had only hinted to but Cherry felt she could guess at it.

Tue 6th June

Handed the keys of my Fortified Keep over to Jason this night, no doubt he will soon have the local populace rebuilding it into some kind of supplyers. This keep had for a long time stood as testiment to the Templar and other Lore stored in the book shelves therein. I bid my home for many years good bye and headed off into the forest bound for the Moongate.

Wednesday 8th June

We attended a fancy dress call in Magincia going as Fire and Ice. Was fun and well attended.

Thursaday 9th June

Went to help the Shadow King Muldran gather some more of his elemental stones with the Templars. But then Duke Irvyn turned up with one of his men so we thought we best leave so as not to cause any tension after his last harsh words words with us two.

Oh and Muldran ran over me *grins*

Saturday 11th June

Attended the wedding of Lord Taggart and Cal'ya Luna at the Falls near Shame, the ceremony was conducted by Vanqa and took on a very distinct elemental feel to it.

After the ceremony took time to speak to Sir Michael once of fame in Trinsic as one of their Paladins. We enquired after the success of his new venture serving in Magincia under the Church there. It seems these people are most pious in their beliefs so it came to a bit of a shock i think when we told him there are Vampires also serving in Magincia. We mentioned the one called Ariel and gave Sir Michael the details of her Sire, Lineage and Bloodline. It was handy that Cal Soulshadow had given up some information regarding the recent exploits of the one called Ariel. Regarding the old Paladin Grandmaster of Trinsic, Sir Barandth. Seems Ariel is serving as some kind of diplomat within the City. We also mentioned there is at least one Ghoul and maybe another Vampire hiding within the populace, and that should he wish to know more he knew where to find us.

Interesting to note that after speaking with the Great One Garod i get the distinct impression that he is not keen on how such vampires conduct themselves. He did wonder why we had not carried any investigations into his children, and indeed why our time was spent only looking into the other Bloodlines. Will be interesting to follow through what he told us of Moiraine, the Duke and the one they call Ikus.I get the impression that while he spoke freely on some subjects he was with holding something . . . . .
Our interest is just in keeping the human cities free of those of the blood who would use such places for their own gain, such as feeding grounds and would be prey. Hence our determination to seek out the truth, but at times i do wonder if it is really worth the pain and hardship this Geas brings down upon us and those within the Order.

Closing the book he returned it to the drawer of their Zento home and reactivated the ward Cherry had placed upon it.

Sat June ___

A Call to Arms to defend Trinsic was sent to all serving Knights of Tel'mar from Sir Medric. Decardo read the sky letter several times recalling how in the past he had faught there many times always in the defense of Trinsic. But now, well now was different , he wished to fight to defend such a noble City even if people did say it was becoming a dark place but where was the motivation to do so.

The Duke has rebuked the authority of the Knights Templar and replaced them with those adventurers who called themselves the Renegades of Virtue. The only Virtue within their ranks was within Lord Ian Dragonfist, a man Decardo recalled with great respect, a man of Great Deeds. Now there was a man, a Knight, a leader people would follow into any foray.

Now if only there was a reason to help defend the City of Honours walls, maybe Ian could help. At least he was lucky in that the City Guard still talked with him daily when he passed through to the Shrine on Paladin Isle for his daily vigil and dedication of his blade to the Virtues. All that dragged on his spirit was the hold the Vampires had on the leaders old and new of the City Irvyn, Moiraine and Ikus.

'Sighing' he placed the sky scroll down and went back to the thought of giving up this crusade of his and taking up his role as a Sensei. It would be probably more rewarding and would cause him strife in his day to day contact with the inhabitants of this world.

Sunday 19th June

Travelled to Naeloth with Cherry for a meeting with Lord Garod of Tremere. I took with me that which i said i would bring and in return Lady Alynora would make Cherry a member of their Great Library. I took a browse round their new tavern there and was much impressed by the decoration if not the clientel.

Many of the Knights of Virtue chose to defend the City of Trinsic this night, the Virtues were with them for they proved victorious on the battlefield. As for Medric i do not know what to make of him using his blade to take the lives of common folk from Yew. This is not the man i once knew who served in Britain when we first met many years ago.

There is no honour in such actions.

Monday 20th June

In line with the pact Decardoi had made with the Virtues to forgive and lay to rest the things that have happended in my past. Decardo headed to the Dutchy of Trinsic and to the Trinsic Rose with Cherry. For the first time in many years Decardo stepped foot within the tavern walls, within a few moments Vanqa came to smiled and brought them drinks. She seemed to be more bright in aura this night.

Whilst sitting with the Kaldorians , the one they call Kade ran into the tavern informing everyone that Seon had been mortally wounded and lay dying in the Trinsic Healers. With all haste we ran to the Healers in Trinsic to find Seon in the state spoken of by Kade. Seems he was struck down by a Dark Elf using a poisoned blade. Commander Soulshadow asked us to save his life so we set to work to try and do just that combining the knowledge of Decardo with the mystical healing arts of Cherry to combat the poison.

Later that night we returned to the Trinsic Rose as requested by Vanqa and were once more greeted by the friendly faces of her and Miguen. She brought us good news from her people this night for they had decided to rename Decardo 'Elf friend'. After spending some time talking to the Templars we headed to Zento.

With the sleeping form of Decardo beside her Cherry lay thinking on the eve's events - her feelings a mixture of joy and confusion. Joy that she and Decardo were once more elf friends and able to travel to Eska'edalie, the place of their joining. A special place and one which she had missed being able to walk in.

The confusion she felt arose from what she had yet again experienced when healing the young Kaldorian Seon. The increasing link she had felt with the Pool in Tel'mar since her release from the celestial beings was growing more powerful...she could feel the energy course through her veins like invisible energy along a ley line. When Cal had asked her and Decardo to heal Seon she had secretly been fearful - unsure of what side effects her healing would take this time - with Callum they had been positive at least.

As she had combined the herbs and Pool water in small vials to pass to Decardo her hands had felt warmer and began to emit a faint orange glow - not wishing too many to witness the phenomena she had quickly pulled on her gloves. Handing over the vials to Decardo she had whispered some words to Seon and silently prayed to the Virtues that all would be well.

When they had later returned to the tavern and seen the Kaldorians drinking there once more she and Decardo had asked after Seon and said they would visit him in Serpents Hold in the next few days.

As for her changing magics and connection with the Pool...these she was slightly fearful of as she did not yet fully understand them. Gently touching Decardo's cheek as he slept she vowed that whilst he journeyed away she herself would go to Ilshenar and spend some time with the Sisters of Nuiduin to try to learn what they knew of such matters.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Tue 21 June

A wagon and mule load of supplies was sent to Trinsic to help replenish the stocks of the Healer Duval as the demands on his time and resources had been many of late with the ongoing rift between Trinsic and Yew.

Sought out one of the Court who showed them the way to their new library in the snowy lands of Malas. Graham the Grey kindly led Decardo & Cherry to the place where they spent some time seeking answers and leads towards gaining an understanding of the link between Cherry and the Pool Nuiduin in Tel'mar. The changes in her were beginning to be of concern to Decardo.

Wed 22nd June

Decardo helped defend Cal friend of the Order, two unkept individuals who came along and started babbling about cutting Cal for the honour of their friend Pete. The ruffians were soon taught the lesson of taking on trained warriors.

Attended the open invitation of Lyam and Phae's Engagement, the gathering was visited by many folk some staying some quickly leaving. Much to Decardo's amazement the oldest serving Knight of Virtue, Sir Gildram appeared at the gathering but quickly left after seeing the mass of people.

Also the one called Seon was seen outside the Councillors Hall, seems after a brief exchange of plesentries that he has lost the memory for the most part of his entire past. He also mentioned he had a faded Bracelet of Binding and there was a name engraved upon it 'Avril'. Cherry got a closer look at this item so may know more. I think this one will be requiring more of our help.

Thur 23rd June

I travelled with Cherry to the Swaggers Inn down in Vesperland. It was good to see Seon of Kaldor up and about. Also we ran into a man of some distinction in that he carried himself well and his armour was of unusual design Segmenta, a design i have not seen in use in some time. Shall have to make effort to seek this one out and make some enquiries.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

After some time there Cherry began to feel nauseous again so i escorted her to the Moongate and onward to Zento. There i led her through one of the meditation katas i knew to calm her spirit. This change within her was beginning to worry me, for as she meditated unbeknowest to her her aura took on a golden firey glow. She is lucky that it is only Renshai eyes that can see this aura in people for otherwise i think people would become to fearful of what they do not understand. I need help and soon.

Later that eve' after Cherry had fallen asleep outside in the cool breezes of Zento i received word from Medric that he wished to speak to myself about Moiraine. Upon my arrival in Tel'mar Medric and Megan were there to greet me. It seems Moiraine wishes to call a Conclave with me and Cherry to answer some accusations about her being a vampire which we apparently made. I did laugh when Medric told me thus especially when he added that it would not be the Dutchy Guard accompanying her but one of those Dark Elves. The same ones who attacked Dirk Faust for no reason, that slew the horses of our Knights and who spend hours taunting the Guards of Trinsic. I have no quarrel with any Drow but trust them - never, well none but one. As for Moiraine wei have nothing to answer for. We have brought no accusations we only asked her i recall 3-4 questions regarding her connection with those of the Blood. Rumour control did the rest and the Dukes over reaction to the questions by officially saying we are unwelcome in Trinsic did only add fuel to the fire. So i did not see what she would accomplish by this Conclave and Medric could give no straight answers to this question.

Having spoken with one or two of the Britannians it is not just myself and Cherry who thinks there are strange things a foot with the dark skinned one Moiraine. The proof we have is indesputable from several sources one of which is beyond doubt. I have other things to worry about with the unnatural goings on within Cherry than worry about another noble losing her credability among her peers.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

I have placed my armour back in the armoury and my past is laid to rest. Only in this way can my spirit begin the road back to which i lost long ago. I do not think Medric or Megan understood they never do, they are consumed by their own self rightous drive to fight in this battle with the Yew Folk. By Medrics own mouth he admitted that no honour could be gleaned from fighting the common militia folk of Yew. And now hes crippled by some wound a healer inflicted upon him. Two firsts within Medric it seems 1) attacking peasents, 2) striking a healer. Maybe tis the others who have changed and not myself in the past years. Medric soon left the scene after cursing me leaving Megan to continue where he left off. I listened calmly trying to focus my mind on what she was saying and not rise to the anger i could clearly see was growing within her. She spoke saying she wished the Decardo she once knew when i held office within the Regents Border Guard was before her now. I tried to explain softly that i am as i have always been ... Renshai, Knight of the Sword & Ankh, and that what was coming to pass was an accumulation of events that have transpired over the past few years. I also explained that i have laid my pass to rest. Taking time to lay past quarrels to rest, even speaking with Ao to let him know i forgave him long ago but unfortunatly the man refused to listen to myself, Vanqa or some of the Templars. After a little more time i bid farewell to Megan and i left her to tend my brother Medric.

I headed back to Zento where i spent most of the night practising the svelgese fighting the imaginary enemies that my mind created attempting to rest my own spirit for there were many things my mind was trying to understand but only one was of importance and that was Cherry. The rest will be dealt with in time and i have much time left within this body.
Laying down my twin blade i then spent an hour in my small temple offering prayers to the Lady Sif to protect Megan and Medric and bring them back to the Light.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Friday 24th June

The evening had begun calmly and pleasantly as myself and Decardo wandered into Trinsic. As Decardo briefly ran an errand I spoke with an interesting man going by the name of William Nask - a man who had travelled from Nujelm in order to meet those he had read about. Whilst chatting with this man and offering to take him to Tel'mar so he could see our little town, the one Decardo called Lysander approached me and with a rather urgent tone tried to distract me from my conversation.

Turning to Lysander and apologising to Will, I listened carefully as Lysander explained one of the Knights of Virtue had ordered a horse and it was waiting to be collected immediately from the stables. It seemed unusual I should be asked to collect the horse but Lysander appeared a little agitated and so I agreed to come with him.

As we walked across one of Trinsic's many decorative bridges my beloved Decardo approached us, returning from his errand. He intended to accompany us - as in all things myself and Decardo are one. This appeared to unsettle Lysander yet more and whispering into my ear he said that he needed me to accompany him alone, as the horse was a suprise gift for Decardo from the elves. Glancing over to my husband I felt some concern at Lysander's story...seeing as in only a few paces it had changed. I quickly crossed to Decardo and leaning close to him whispered the words, stay close beloved though I will appear to go alone with Lysander.

We walked through Trinsic's streets, passing many fine buildings, though in my heart I mourned what the city had become. On reaching the stables I saw no horse even though Lysander talked long with the stablemaster. From nowhere a scruffy man in black materialised, reeking of the hay and stable dung he had been hiding in, and grabbed Lysander around the neck. Alarmed I did nothing at first, though I could instantly feel the strange new fiery power mounting within me, the energy from the Pool feeding my magic ...I sensed that no matter what happened I would be sustained.

Lysander was gasping for air as the man tightened his grip about his throat...I made to move to help him but the stranger screamed at me to give him my valuables or he would kill Lysander. From that point my memories are a blur of fire, energy coursed through my veins - I was merely aware that as I refused to hand over anything the stranger attacked. Within my palms fire gathered and I unleashed it...there was shouting and chaos...then Decardo was beside me and chasing the attacker.

As my mind reeled from the attack I saw Lysander still looking ashen and breathing hard. I did my best to reassure him and said the thief would hope he escaped Decardo's cool wrath. Lysander was scared the man would return to attack him ... I offered sanctuary in Tel'mar should he wish it. Was at that moment I heard the familiar footsteps of Decardo approaching. He looked frustrated - the thief had escaped. Lysander looked around edgily as we asked him more of the horse and what had happened to it. He claimed it had bolted in the affray. I asked which elf had sent it as we could then go and thank them anyway for the gift and let them know what had transpired. A "companion of Durinka's" was all Lysander would say before dashing off to the bakery.

Standing in the now calm stables I looked to my beloved for reassurance and knowing how the other thought we headed to the Trinsic Rose to speak with VanQa. She confirmed what I had begun to suspect...the elves had sent no horse. The whole encounter was some elaborate means of stealing from me. VanQa showed me a letter she had received from Lysander some while ago, which after reading it, I began to wonder if Lysander was a willing participant in the attempted robbery or a mere pawn being used by others. I said to VanQa I would return to Trinsic with Decardo and try to find Lysander again and once more offer him the sanctuary of Tel'mar should he need it, or at least learn more of the truth. It was a shame to leave the Trinsisc Rose as it was full of friends and it would have been enjoyable to share some moments with them.

Returning to the city proved fruitless, though we did see a darkly dressed man in the tavern who knew Lysander and said he would inform him myself and Decardo were seeking him.

Exhaustion overcame me - I felt as if the Pool was reclaiming its energy...draining me and making me weaker. Was this a price to pay? Were there going to be other sacrifices that came with this new power...as unconciousness overtook me I felt safe because of Decardo's encircling arms.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Spent some time with Lady Flame and the Bloodguard talking with Jordan Jurrel on the current matters of interest to the Crown. Lady Flame asked if i would serve among the Royal BloodGuard to which i answered i would and with Honour.

Then headed to Trinsic to meet with Cherry. I found her talking with the one people call Lysander Marchant, he seemed a little unsure of himself once i was within Cherry's presence. Cherry and Lysander then exchanged a brief set of words privately before she asked me to remain nearby. Stepping close away from Lysanders ears she spoke quietly saying stay close but not visible. Obeying her wishes she then left with Lysander.
After a short while i was suddenly aware of an uneasyness about myself quickly followed by a blinding instant and confusing vision that Cherry was in danger. With all haste i ran southwards towards where i believed her to be. Within the stables i saw Cherry unleash a bolt of flame from her right finger tips that seared her adversary, as i ran forward i drew 'Cold Heart' and 'Foebane' from their sheaths and entered into the Dance with her adversary. He was quickly taken off balance for although he was heavily armoured and i was not he was no match for the spinning blades of a Renshai and fled from the battle. I followed for a brief time but the man was young and fled fast. Having given up the chase i knew i would know this man again for i had sliced his fleeting back open from left to right. I turned and returned to the City and to Cherry. I found her safe all be it for a torn dress where her adversary had struck her with his War pick. Of more concern was the state of her aura to mine eyes she was surrounded by a scintillating flame golden hue.

I kept this to myself as i listened whilst Cherry and Lysander filled me in on the details of what had happened.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Sat 25th June

We got a message from Matsura that Moiraine was seeking to talk with us so we headed to Trinsic. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Talewin, we then headed into the City and got no further than the Jail before we were accosted by another Guard saying we were not going anywhere on the Orders of Moiraine. When i asked what law we had broken the guard looked lost for words. I had then the feeling this would end in bloodshed, it always did. Then Reann in her full armour as shes fond to be walking about in added her views to the conversation and soon the usual crowd drew around us. Luckily for us Baron Edmund intervened and Ordered the Guard to stand down, at sight of him a flow of calm travelled through my body for i knew i would not be forced to fight my way out.

After a few brief moments Moiraine turned up and as usual with her Drow bodyguard. She began in her usual commanding way, anyone would think we were her subjects. This went on for some time but in short we said if she wished to speak to us she does so on our terms as it was not us who had ever sought her harm but vice versa. I listed to her the actions she had taken against us ,

1) Injustly Jailed myself and Cherry for a crime (Armed Mugging & Robbery) we were set up for,

2) Placed a bounty on my head and sent armed warriors into Tel'mar breaking that which is Tel'mars highest Law that no weapon shall be drawn in Tel'mar,

3) Tried Cal Soulshadow our friend who was following Order for the actions of the entire Kaldorian army and put her to the lash,

4) Arrested me for giving her aid during a pause of the lashings

5) Is known to be at the very least under the influence of unnatural powers- vampires, rumour is she is one.

In short she is not to be trusted for she places more trust in the drow than she does her own Dutchy Guard.
And emphasised we had never gone against her or the City, never had my blade been drawn except to defend Cal from the time she was beset upon by City Guards for eight onto one was not honourable.
We gave her the decision either come alone with us or do not. The choice was hers and one she took a long time to make for she seemed very nervous about what i do not know.

After some time for we were delayed due to helping a man known to me who seemed to have been stricken by the desert sun, we headed to our home nearby Trinsic.

Inside we showed her to the Pavillion where we offered her food and refreshment as befitting my custom to which she point blankly refused saying was this another test !. Cherry explained this was a Renshai custom not some test and to refuse was a great insult any Renshai let alone Decardo and to her, as this was her home and being married to Decardo she embraced some of his ways. At this insult i left the pavillion to get some air after a brief talk with Cherry i was persuaded to hear Moiraine out. Upon our re entering the room Moiraine had decided that we had offered her enough insults and was leaving saying we did not care about our friends and that we were consumed by hatred even though earlier i had explained i have no grudges or ill feelings towards her. With this she left our home and never did learn any clue as to what she wished to talk to us about.

Perhaps it was just an excuse to leave as her drow friends were not nearby for when she came to our house she seemed surprised we had not taken her to Tel'mar almost worriedly so.

Later on that day we meet with one of the Tremere, one of the ones who had been helping us with our investigations. Heading away from sight we discussed m,any things and he handed over some of the information we required and an old book long forgotten. I will not write here what was said in case this book falls into the wrong hands. Thanking him we headed to the City of Zento.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Sunday 26th June

Matsura helped recover Master Orphous and returned him safely to his family. The Master Smith rewarded the young Knight with a gifted set of armour made in the style of his homeland.

Spent some time at the Festival in Cove surprisingly it seemed very cultured for the men of Cove not that which i had come to expect from such. The Festival itself proved a welcome distraction from recent events and i think i managed to put the fear of god into Lysander when i spoke to him regarding the encounter in Trinsic where Cherry had been attacked.

Many of the Shadow Court were there and they saught Cherry out regarding some potential she has. I listened intently as they discussed the ways of magic making mental note of what they were saying. Most think i am just a simple warrior but once i used to have that power rest inside me when i was a Templar but i gave that pathway up when i embraced the 6th Initiation. I shall go with her when she goes to meet with them during the week.

Also worthy of note was an encounter with a Knight of Tintagel and his friends, they came across as people of Virtue. There was one called Cerys who seemed to be embraced by Virtue who spoke of coming to Tel'mar in the near future.

Towards the end of the Festival they held a promotions ceremony, another reminder of war. We chose to depart at this stage and headed to Tel'mar to check on Master Orphous and his Family. After speaking with him and his eldest we made our excuses to leave as it was getting late. Passing by the Great Hall 'Camulod' Cherry noticed a letter in the box it was addressed to just the Order. Opening it she read the contents and explained it was from the Grandmaster of the Luna Order of Paladins requesting a meeting with a representative of our Order. There was not time this day but at first light we could send someone she said.

With that i headed to the Singing Shrine to offer some prayers to my Patron to help guide Medric on his pathway, for i had not seen him in two days. Medric was oft to take himself away into the wilderness when he questioned his own conduct and honour. This had been his way as long as i had known him.

Life is the Dance and Honor, the Dance is Death to those we oppose,
Honor is our salvation.
Without Honor the Dance is meaningless
forms and we are nothing.

Re: Cherry and Decardo's Journal

Flicking through the pages of the journal myself and Decardo wrote, I mused anxiously once more on the changes occurring within me. Seeing them noted down in black and white ensured they could not be ignored. Everything seemed intwerwoven....the release from the beings and the increased link with the Pool and now the stone calling to me. I had thought they were seperate until today but after my talk with members of the Shadowcourt I began to wonder if one event was but a result of another.

Callum had explained to me he feared that the ritual Muldran had carried out with the elemental stones had failed as they had not possessed the stones I carried as I was absent from the realms during the ritual. He wished to take possession of them. However as I had explained, I feel loath to hand over both the stones - I hope in my heart Muldran can make the ritual successful with just one.

As I pondered the conversation with Callum I opened a small locked casket hidden within the Pavilion of my home...there lay the two stones. One benign. One calling to me... Wrenching my eyes away from them I quickly locked and hid the casket away. Decardo was right to be worried about this matter...I am too. Callum had asked me to speak with Muldran in two days from hence. Perhaps he would be able to offer some aid.
