Threats and Ghosts
07-10-2007 / mar 35, 364
With an annoyed movement Gwen kicked towards what she thought to be a pebble. Next she was jumping around on one foot, rubbing the sore toes that had kicked not at a pebble but at a stone that was ankered in the ground. Angrily she glared at it, setting her foot slowly down. Some animals that always were present in the Quarter watched her silently. Embarrassed now, Gwen hurried home, but still felt frustrated. As soon as she entered home, she felt a chill go down her spine which only added to her frustration. The ghost was still there. With a sigh she sat down behind her vanity, pulling out a new diary she had gotten herself and started writing. Why do people tell me not to worry while for the second day in a row my people and the Elven Quarter have received a threat against our existance? Have they forgotten about the fire that has nearly destroyed the Quarter and taken one life? When will they start to worry? When one of us is found dead or when another tree is burned down? Am I perhaps overreacting, because I remember all too well how it was to be surrounded by the flames before Alar pulled me out to safety? I could accept perhaps it was a bad joke after we found the first note, but now that a second note is found I do feel concern. Gwen sighed again, lifted her head to listen to the sounds outside, but she could not hear anything suspicious. Perhaps I should just blurt out why I know that Korith did not put that note there. But then again… as Stewan asked: Do I really know that? This is ridicilous. One must be a terrific actor if one can fake the look of concern that Korith had when he spoke of finding the first note. Even though the threat is made against elves only, his people would be targetted as well. Or at least next. Their ears are pointy like ours and they’re even disliked by most people that I know. Herenui, who is still upset about Kelirahcs bad joke, seems eager to point fingers at them, but I have a strong feeling she is wrong or at least pointing at the wrong ones. Hopefully Kelirahc will join me soon, I would hate to spend the night alone while these threats are made and this ghost is staying here at the Rose. Gwen shivvered thinking about the ghost woman she had allowed to stay. There was a woman in Vesper called Noixiata. The name is not common. Perhaps she is related to the woman of which Anne the Ghost wrote in the Diary we found in the by the passing of time ruined home. I hope we can soon help this ghost to pass onto wherever humans go after they die, because her presence here makes me very uncomfortable. Seeing her and her fate puts a dread in my heart that not even the sweetest smile she gives me could soothen. Gwen Irima She closed her diary and put it safely away. For a long time one could hear soft footsteps and soft muttering as Gwen walked up and down the room untill she was too tired to continue.
