Nox stood at the gates to the town hall watching the snow fall from the clouded sky. He had previously recieved word from the the elf known as Olk, that there was a traitor among the Vesperian people, one who would happily trade information that could threaten the security of an entire country for a few coins. There was nothing Nox despised more than traitors and so he had called for the Militia to rally outside the Town Hall to hunt down the criminal.

It took a while for the scattered Militia to fall in, but Nox couldnt complain, the turn out was good and all were ready and eager. The late arrival of Lady Tabbitha gave Nox a vote of confidence as he knew her diplomatic skills were far better than his and might allow them to get through the day without any bloodshed. He announced the situation to the gathered forces and told them he had recieved word that the traitor was said to frequent the mage tower in Vesper and so this would be there first, and hopefully their only destination. The group traveled by gate, courtesy of Esca, to the Vesper bank, quickly proceding to storm the building in an attempt to catch this Elijah fellow by surprise. But to their dismay the place was empty of persons, though not of clues. Throughout the upper floor of the tower were a collection of diary pages. Nox skimmed through the pages and found everything he needed as evidence against the traitor. It appeared the target wasnt too bright and Nox now felt sure he would be apprehended soon enough, this feeling was quickly diminished when he read where Elijah had fled to. "Cove" he muttered; Things had just got alot more complicated. Stupid or not, it was going to be very difficult to get Elijah out of Cove with that stubborn Baron of theirs in charge. The small force formed up outside and discussed how to go about dealing with Cove. While, as to be expected from a battle ready militia, most wanted to charge in and fell as many Covians as possible, there were other approaches which could be more effective. One such approach was the "Brilliant" idea suggested by Rob Blackwood to send Lurtz in dressed as a woman. Though this idea was soon retracted after it was generally believed Rob would make the best woman. After a bit of discussion it was agreed Lady Tabbitha would attempt to lead discussions with the highest ranking Covian and try to get the traitor back peacefully. Nox hoped this would work but he knew how difficult the Covians were to talk to and had already accepted that this was more than likely to turn into a battle.

It wasnt long before they arrived in Cove and proceeded to the Covian barracks. The force lined up outside, unarmed but ready for battle, as reinforcements slowly came in, including the Captain. Nox and Lady Tabbitha proceeded upstairs to begin the talks. The atmosphere was tense, the Covians being as difficult as ever to negotiate with, made only harder with the presence of their stuck up Baron. Lady Tabbitha tried for a good time to reason with the unreasonable but the Covians were getting more and more agitated by the two Vesperians presence and slowly began arming their weapons making Nox uneasy to the point where he advised Lady Tabbitha that they should both leave. She approved and they proceeded out of the barracks followed by heavily armed Covians and their Baron. Hanse was martialling the militia to Nox's relief, he had never particuarly liked leading large numbers but understood that its part of his Job when higher ranks werent about. The Covians formed and Nox knew he couldnt just let them walk off with a traitor who had military information that could endanger Vesper and decided that they would make the first move. He began to cast an offensive spell and others followed suit and so it began. A few Covians quickly surcame to the onslaught of magery, but the numbers of the Covians were too many, soon the bulk of their force charged the centre of the Vesperians splitting the Militia into smaller groups as skirmishes broke out. Nox was soon seperated from the group with Covians moving in on him; he doubled back on himself to try find and help any Vesperian survivors but just saw corpses and injured along with a large force of Covians who quickly caught sight of him. He let off a spell or two and a swing of his axe but was overwhelmed and retreated into the forest where he managed to outrun the heavily armoured Covians. While getting his bearings he saw Draxen Davion alive in the distance. They soon met up and Nox asked if Draxen had seen any others alive and well, but Draxen shook his head. He scanned the area but couldnt hear or see anymore fighting. Resigning to defeat Nox gave Draxen the order to retreat and to pass on the message to anyone he see's as they went their seperate ways in the cold snow covered woods. Nox knew that this wouldnt be the end, they couldnt leave a traitor in the care of the Covians and that it wouldnt be long untill another battle was fought over the traitor named Elijah Forest.

We all lined up in Vesper to hear the plans.





Searching the town, we finally found evidence of the criminal in the nearby Mage shop.




After finding written clues in the Mage building,we planned out next step.
To travel to Cove to attempt the handing over of the criminal.






Nox and myself were ,after a lengthy wait ,granted an audience with the Baron .












Sadly I was knocked for no reason,and as my world went grey,I was unable to draw any more evidence of how badlky we were treated by the Covians on what we had set out in initially as a mission to see Justice carried out.
