Chapter 3 - The Re-awakening

The time had come, the time to bring Rand back to walk among the living once more. A group of militiamen proceeded to Vesper Bank where they approached the scientist Marshal Drakan who seemed to bear a aura of mystery, where did he come from? How could he bring Rand back to the almighty Vesper? So many questions, so few answers.
This scientist appointed a task to the militiamen, a strange task from a strange scientist. He asked them to help him collect five hearts from the constructs known as golems, or in other terms; power crystals used to power these mechanical beasts. The persuit of Rands rebirth pushed the militia to carry out this task, which led them to the Juka city in the land of Ilshenar.

The Vesper Militia bravely brought these metallic beings to their knee's, salvaging the crystals from the wreckages. The Task was complete, and the next step was to return to Vesper which lead to more tragic events. The fight back to the moongate was a near impossible battle, leading to the death of a fellow millitiawoman. Jade Darkmoore fought with passion for the dangling life of her kin, but the faced the same fate as Rand during the journy to the moongate. The militia simply couldnt stop the ferocious attack of the swamp dragon that tore through her corpse, the Darkmoore curse of getting eaten by vicous creatures unfortunately caught up with her too.

After a long bloody battle, the group finnaly returned to Vesper, where they gathered on the roof of the Jailhouse. It seemed the pointless pyramid on the roof did have a purpose after all as the men watched Marshal Drakan release the mangled corpse of Rand from within.



What sick intentions this mad scientist had in mind was unkown, Rand lay there an inch from death; he just needed to be put out of his misery instead of put through torture like this. But the madness didn't stop there, the quest continued, back to ilshenar the group travelled, all the way to the gargoyal city.


However when they arrived, twas a bloodbath, the stench of death haunted the great halls of this once mighty city. Could this of been linked to the clearly insane Marshall Drakan? But it was not the time for questions, Rand was nearly lost from this plane, time was of the essence. Sickening actions followed in the golem workshop of the gargoyal city.


After work progressed, there was a sort of darkness surrounding this Scientist. He carried out the pratices of Lord Blackthorn himself, the practices of combining Mechanics and Man. Blackthorn created constructs and combined them with his minions and even became a subject of his own work, half man, half machine. Fearing for Rands death, no questions were asked, the operations were carried out and Rand was lowered into a pit of lava to seal the work together.


Completed using the fires of hell, Rand was lowered to the floor radiating with the heat of a pheonix.....well no longer did he look like the Rand everyone had come to know. He was more of an abomination now, Half Construct, Half Man.



The process was complete, life began to flow through Rands veins and now metalic wires again. The group turned to Marshall Drakan for answers, but before anyone could say a word, he fell under the new brute force of Rand Darkmoore as he flew out of the window. That fall was certain death....the militia were glad the scientist had wiped off the face of sosaria, but along with him went the answers to the many, yes many questions. But who knows if the mysterious scientist was gone forever, but that didnt matter, folk were in rejoice over Rands rebirth into the world that we know as sosaria........but was it the right choice?
