I hate stupid threads that try to generate funny quotes that will invariably be constructed with the sole intention of being funny, and inevitably as a result, not only manage to be hideously unfunny, but also make the reader want to leave the UO guild in question, and possibly UO itself. I do my damnedest to make a site (nigh-on 100%) W3C compatible, follow the WAI guidelines, make it search engine friendly and optimise all the images properly so the pages don't take too long to load on dial-up and only use Flash where appropriate. Essentially, I do a good job, but I do it in-house for one company (oki my site turns over about a quarter of a million pounds a month, but it's just one company)... so I'm on a fairly basic professional salary (and a few grand below the national average for a web developer). Go to many professional web developer sites and they claim to do the same. One in particular I looked at had a WAI page going on about how they make their sites W3C and WAI compliant - looked at their code and it would have failed on even the most fkn basic W3C/WAI tests - and they were fkn expensive too - total bunch of fkn rip-off C***s the lot of them! </RANT> I could go on for about an hour on this topic... but I'll spare you all and go and have a nice cup of tea and calm down.
