previous training

I felt that i should leave a post about last nights training as its the first ive done in a long time and i felt it went really well. I can only really speak "tactics wise" for my team. the green blob, which consisted of myself, rhydinn, lyonya, ned stark and veshnon of mgc. when defending the building we all invised on the upper level, and had our targets called. when they entered our room we swiftly blew away the first target. when defending we had our two warriors on x healing alone, at we all stuck together. unfortunately it didnt seem to work, as they targetted one mage at a time and done too much damage for us to be healed. We ended with a open battle, where the winners were the team that where gathered around a shield which was put on the floor by vesper bank at the end. The tactic we use was to get to the shield and stand there as a group, and for the initial meeting with opposition to HEAL only! that was all of us. so as we met the pink team, we only healed, to stay alive, then we hit them hard. There was a slight lack of discipline with some members leaving the shield and chasing down targets, which left them knocked. but myself and ned inparticular stood firm, and when an opponent came close we either took them down or forced them to flee. these tactics won that round. ned and veshnon x healing was superb, it kept us standing whislt the mages could do the real damage, which worked. I think that next time we need to show more discipline and work as a team even more.

Re: previous training

responses form the guys that were there with how they felt it went would be great. particularly from draxen. if you could say what tactics your team used and how they went.

Re: previous training

The final "field combat" training was more representative of what actually happens when it comes to guild combat - and I think that worked best. Although, it may have been helpful had it been made clear at the start whether rejoining after ressing was allowed... although I only got knocked near the end of that anyway.

Only thing that took the shine off it for me was discovering my template has been nerfed - and I'm not quite sure what to do about it.

Yeah teh ressing thing was good because it reflected fighting Grd! But I know myself & Baraz didnt die once...so nerrrr neeerrr!

But yes...from observing our pvp & manouveres (how the hell do u spell that?) over the last week, the main problem with -V- in fighting is our dicipline plus a bit too much gungho juice! But when we follow orders we are amazing!

Rhyddin, and Maneuvre.
And yes, I think the field fight in the end is where people really learn how to fight together. Basically, no rules, just keep going until everyone gets tired. We shall call it Ragnarok.

Re: previous training

Current template is:

Magery 110
Eval 110
Med 100
Resist 100
Poisoning 100
Fencing 100
Anatomy 100

But now I can't use any of the fencing specials as I don't have tactics.

Anatomy is more useful than tactics as it gives me a (small) damage bonus with fencing weapons and, with eval, a 110% passive dodge ability.

The only options I've got really are:

a: stick with this template (and lose out on disarm/bleed)

or

b: swap out anatomy for wrestling as you don't need tactics for the wrestling specials, at least then I'd get disarm back.

Alternatively I could effectively start from scratch and change to an assassin - lose magery for hiding/stealth - or become a dex-monkey warrior.. but I really can't be arsed with that.

Re: previous training

Rhyddin, (spelt it right!)

Ive never been a fan of dexxers, I think its too relient on luck, and, unless your something like garrick (who arms, disarms shield and weps endlessly whilst chugging pots, eating apples and applying poison etc) then its relatively brainless...

with wrestling, you still lose your "set up" disarm macro when you start casting a spell. no specials can be held, not even wrestling ones, but your right, at least you dont need tactics. for me, tank mages are now so heavily nerfed that it just will not work. You could go nox mage. drop fencing for healing? so you wont be able to disarm but youll be a healing nox mage?

Or take wrestling and just be a pure? maybe get inscription in there? can you perform a ninjitsu death strike with wrestling skill? if so go with ninja? and use the old deathstrike explo e bolt combo?

what ya think?

Re: previous training

Deathstrike now requires Hiding & Stealth to get above 15-18 dmg.

However, a tracked enemy, with 120 Ninja & 100 Hiding/Stealth gives about 60 dmg! So its still hardcore!

Rhyddin...jus' stick with your template mate, and poison the hell out of people!
