Good day, Lord Samsca

Operation Crowsword has an interesting premise and enticing chances of success, given the south's ineptitude when it comes to defending territory from organised movements. It is also an excellent time for these kinds of operations, as I'm sure you know we have come to a state of peace with the Covian Empire and under the table arrangements have led to an unofficial halt in the fighting with the Western Militia of Yew.

This note is to give the operation my approval, and inform you that I will discuss it with the Liberators only, and later with the others. I suggest you seek the Baron's approval while I make all the necessary arrangements of our forces for a time in the near future.

Go not to the Snakehills, lest ye care to die, Governor.

Captain Davion.

I would appreciate greatly some form of report on any progress with the liberators. Preferably soon. I begin to suspect that the cut off point may well be some time next week if not before and so time is somewhat pressing.

There are also a great deal of other matters which require my attention. A certain building project in the west is likely to manifest soon and so other operations shall have to be conjured to provide it with suitable resources. I also suspect there may be other traitors lurking within our ranks after the explosion of the partisan class.

Stay alert.

All things are in alignment we merely await the demonstration of your mens competance in the service of both Vespenland and the Republic.

Captain Davion.

The Baron is most disappointed as to your failure to take action in regards to Crowsword. The operation is increasingly less important and will have to be modified. Regardless recent issues have arisen in the north which demand our attention.

The fires of West Vesper grow cold. Due to the harshness of the winter this year the stocks of fuel for the furnaces are greatly diminished. This will see the Baron's sources of various ores decreased which is obviously unacceptable especially with the expanded Militia and expanded presence upon the stage.
You, or one of your subordinates, is tasked with aquiring a stock of wood for both domestic and industrial use. I believe a figure of five thousand logs in the next two weeks is a reasonable figure to accomplish. A cluster of partisans and firebrands with axes should be able to gather that much in a few days.
Unfortunately however the trees in Vespenland are unsuitable so you will have to take them east over the river into Windemere or west in Covianshire. If the minions of the empire are there ensure they are.. removed. Quietly.

There is another issue of importance. The harshness of the winter seems to have had a terrible effect on the balance of animals around Vespenland. The number of wolves has risen too high. The number of cows, pigs and deer has sunk as a result. I advise you employ partisans in slaughtering a selection of the creatures. This should not take long but it may serve them better than languishing in the barracks for hours at a time.

A new operation is in the planning stage. Foxgill. Although we await the return on your investment. That and with the Yewish failure I would advise expansion of observation. Does the beast sleep or is it dieing? Force should be employed if either is the case.

Oh and a heads up. The Baron persists with the northern delusion. You will almost certainly be required to find your peer (should such exist) in the empire to discuss strategy. Unfortunate. The twin E's however may render such moot. We hope it shall be the case.

Governor Samsca,

You were told in my last letter to find the Baron's approval for the operation, and I have not received it, not even now with your claim of the Baron's disappointment at my allegedly lackluster efforts. When I receive his -explicit- approval for such a delve into the innards of Trinsic we will make our move for your operation's goals. Trinsic currently sees our raiding as mindless barbarism, and is tolerant of its happening - however an obviously organised strike to go in and retrieve something I have little doubt would raise more eyebrows and possibly lead things to a position that isn't to the benefit of the Republic at this very moment in my eyes.

For your menial labour, I suggest you requisition some Militiamen and lead them in person. They are primarily your lands they would be benefiting after all. I would see little problem with them following you to such ends should there be little else to be done.

As for the Empire, no Vesparian has a peer there, least of all myself. They are arrogant, ungrateful, oppressive, virtue-cuddling foreigners who would best serve to be pondering their pathetic existence alongside the shadow rats and spiders underground. Its fair to assume that the twins are too caught up wrangling over their toys to see our goals, so I see little need other than the Republic's command to seek out co-operation
