![]() | Re: Character histories Here's a brief history to my character. Arthurias grew up in a wealthy isolated family, a large house and a few servants to do his bidding. His social skills are extreemly lacking however he has set out to make a man of himself in the army. He is well educated and speeks with a polished tone. After leaving the security of his home he has endevoured to become the best he can but has found it hard finding work due to his or lack of strength and experiance in battle, this has made Arthurias very self concious and nervous although day by day small improvments can be seen in Arthurias's confidence. His battle strength seems to be improving too. In General Arthurias is quite a gentleman (exept when drunk) and hopes to become an officer one day. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Character histories A History of Ned Stark... Born in the far distant land of 'Neverlands' a long lost facet of Sosaria, Ned was born a peasant of Vesper. His father, a learned man, but crippled could not feed his family, and his mother, a drunk, could barely take care of herself. From a young age, Ned was forced onto the streets of Vesper to pickpocket local merchants and travellers. One morning, he spied a man riding a large black steed enter the city, rumours of the wars between mighty guilds barely reached the peasant quarter, and Ned knew or cared little of the affiars of knights and mages. Yet on this day the man, accompanied by a large amount of guards, rode into the city, and tore down all the signs swearing Vespers alligience to the Guild; The Dawn Of Victory. It appeared that earlier that week, the Knights of the Round, led by a wicked mage named Eltharion, had crushed the defenced, and Eltharion;also known as the Tyrant of Trinsic had appointed himself Viscount of Vesper and claimed his lands to the South of the city. Ned stood bemused, but knew that arrogant Lords were excellent targets for gold. Sneaking between the crowd he slid past the mans saddle bag in the usual fashion and grabbed a bag. Before Ned could make his escape he felt the coldness of steel on his neck. A young warrior clad in silver armour stared at the boy... "return that now boy" said the warrior, his long blonde hair covered his stern face. Ned turned and looked straight at the man with a fearless glance. Lowering his sword the man stepped forward and grabbed Ned's chin, squeezing his cheeks, and he laughed. "courage, in the rat...i like it". "Is there a problem N'Kari?" a cold wispy voice asked, it was Eltharion. "No, milord, this street rat appears to have a taste for Elven gold, but it has been delt with" "very well...i shall retire to my keep, ensure the population understands the new demands" and with a turn the man rode off, leaving his Warrior servant with Ned. "What is your name boy?" he asked. "Im Ned, Ned Stark" Ned replied with a snap to his tounge. Without warning, the warrior gave him a slap around the face, platemail crunching into a cheek bone, but Ned still stood. "When you address a knight, you say Sir! Understand me child? How would you like to come and work for me?" Ned knew little of knights, infact he knew little of everything, but something in that mans eyes convinced him. For the next few years, Ned worked in the Castle of the Viscount of Vesper, cleaning, but most of all, stealing. N'Kari, whom he had learned, was the Viscount's personal bodyguard, a learned but pious warrior often taught Ned stories of chivalry and valour. The living was good, until the wars returned. Armies of Britain had been mustering in secret along the mountains, and without warning the Guilds errupted in war. Vesper was the stronghold where they struck first, Ned was stuck in the castle when the siege began, and the day by day assualts took many lives. On the final day of the siege, the armies of Britain broke through, and quickly the Knights of the Round, the guild holding Vesper dropped in number, until only souls lived in the castle, Eltharion; the Viscount, N'Kari the Knight and Ned Stark the thief. One by one the attackers fell to a mixture of magic & steel, but skill can only deter a few numbers, and eventually Ned watched from under a table as the Viscount's blood red daemon bone armour was pierced by spears. Seeing his lord fall, N'Kari went into a blood rage, grabbing the young thief by the arm, he cut a swathe through the ranks of soldiers, down the stairs into the kitchen. He had barred the door, and grabbed Ned and shoved him against the wall. The Warrior, now covered in blood and sweat searched the walls for a lose brick, and pushed it, revealing a secret passage way. "Ned, you see this passage? It goes to the docks, if we are lucky our soldiers will have held them in the city, and you will be able to make your way there. Here take this..." The knight handed him a scroll of parchment and a bag of coins. "If the captain is a servant of the Round Table, give him this, then flee for whatever place you can...and remember all i have tought you, do your promise that?" N'kari shook the boy "Yes i will, i will remember it all" Ned looked worringly at his friend, and before he left, he quickly stole N'Kari's gold encrusted dagger. "I will always remember" he smiled, and ran down the dark passage, just as the door was rammed. The thief made it to the docks, and got on a merchant craft to Haven. The knife was his only possession, and after spending the coins, he had to work as a shiphand before arriving in Haven. For the next few years, he stalked the streets, and stole off boats in the dock, until one day he was unfortunate enough to be stowed away on a ship bound for a great long journey. Yet it didn't make it, a freak storm sent the ship into the abyss of magic, and although it came out whole, the port of Haven where it landed was very different. There were different trees, different colours, even strange different people. Ned thought his fortunes had changed, and decided this was his chace to not forget a promise. He walked to the nearest shrine and swore he would fight for all that is right, and for the one thing he loved that still existed.... Vesper. |
