True, but then Wales is something like 1/10th the population of England. We are none the less cunning enough to mooch billions of pounds off of England, and have a voice in parliament while English folk have no voice in our Assembly (not much power in the assembly, but enough for us to have our students educated largely at your expense, while you yourselves pay huge ransoms). You might be bigger, but that just means there's more of you to feed your taxes into our pockets in ways decided by our own mini-government, mwahahaha - we're getting the better deal out of this union by a longshot

Alas, Englands power as a superpower died about 150 years ago. And now...ze most hated nation in Europe besides Poland...God I hate poles!! They actually want as many votes as Germany does in the EU, because..their rationale...if Germany hadn't killed so many polish people during WWII then they'd have a much larger population. Still gotta wonder about Germany...every single man above 18 there has been in the army for 14 months...they still have a draft. Badass army if mass draft for possible future war comes about.

The state of Britain is pretty widely believed to be dire nowadays true enough. Need a proper (policy-wise) aggressive government that can sort out the swathes of problems from red-tape in business (especially safety) through to immigration and benefit spongers.

Surely the end is nigh for us all! As for mandatory military service....SOUNDS good...until you're actually doing it. Then I think you'll soon find it actually sucks the sweat off a dead mans balls getting up at 5:30 every morning to clean room and give boots one more polish before inspection. Not to mention the guy sleeping in bottom bunk having a wank every few days...oh..and a cranky sergeant shaving your face if you weren't thorough enough the first time around...*shudders*

Yes getting up at 5:30 is a good thing, it teaches people disapline, and gives them something to respect. Because at the moment, no one respects anything in the UK!

I dont know whether University students should do service, but i think i wouldn't object to it! Besides...army isnt all about guns and bombs! There are 1000s of career paths in the army.

Those who planned their conscription could plan certain careers! I was goin to do officer training, and even got into Sandhurst Academy. I was going to be an Armourer Reconaisance Officer, and specialise in Alpine Recon, and get the army to train my skiing up to an olympic level!

Now, if everyone did that, imagine how employable people would be! Military service is the 2nd most looked for thing on any major job...
