Speaking of manners; I was on the bus today, just one of the little ones. Third row from the front, bus is jam packed and some old woman gets on, no seats. nobody offers her their seat (the people on the bus are largely college / school kids).

I in the third row back had to get the guy on the inside to move, let me out, and let the old woman in. How !!!!ty is that for manners? Third row back, that means there were eleven other people before me who shoulda given up their seat for this old lady.

Speaking of manners, why am I posting in a babble thread?

must be a scandinavian thing. just yesterday aftenposten had an article how rude norwegian passengers are. although a lot of public transport personnel aren't the nicest fellows either.

Swedes are worst. Coldest people ever, doesn't greet each other, says very little and tries to avoid contact. It's like that story about whats all swedish things are about, (odals bonden for twoey, you know that one?)

People should bow to me and when they dont I reserve the right to treat em harsh right back.

even my coworkers said how norwegians are generally rude. Must be a relic from the viking age where you greeted your neighbour with an axe swing in the head.

Yay! Hooray fer the Vikings i say!
Then again in Germany its kinda the same...i wouldnt offer my seat to an old lady....pffff my back hurts and my knees are damaged *winks*

did you watch Gladiator? The Germanz there didn't look that friendly either. I think they actually had axes too!!!
