The long days of waiting are past.

Lord Garod walks amongst us once more, his wisdom to dispense.
What imaginings could have forseen that I would be foremost in his mind to oversee the newly founded branch of our house, that of The Guardians?

An honour indeed, bestowed upon one who holds his loyalty to The House of Tremere above all. I accept this task with one aim in mind... to instill in others that very same sense of loyalty, without which we will falter in the face of ignorance and fear.

The Guardians purpose shall be threefold...
To protect The House of Tremere from external threat,
To enforce the rulings and judgements of the elders of The House of Tremere,
To impose loyalty to the family on those who may falter.

Through my actions shalt you know me. My own loyalty shall be seen as a standard to which others will aspire.

Strength has come to me... a gift of profound consequence given by the Lady Jade Bastet.

In the taking of my blood, the drink of death, which rendered me lifeless, Lady Jade broke the bonds of my past life... her sacrifice in the giving of her own blood awoke in me a new force, a burning passion, a feral hunger, which I shall use to drive my desire.

My nature is not as it was, I am other than human, a being of powers I still do not fully comprehend, but they will give me the strength to maintain and defend The House of Tremere against any who would defy our rule.

This is my testament...

The Guardians strength grows.

As a mirror to my own heightning senses I see the flourishing of my command.
The addition of Lucius and Ripper has given me much to think on.
They are quick and eager, I have seen with my own eyes the fighting skills of both... Lucius within the arena and Ripper on the streets of Skara Brae.

Now I must judge their loyalty to The House of Tremere... it shall be seen in their actions.

This day I felt the great thirst, that which will be my burden through the ages.
It came upon me in waves of agony, a screaming emptiness within, driving me out of the shadows into the fast falling dusk. Stumbling, running then dashing headlong, a chorus of beating hearts called to me and drew me to the places that the Lady Jade has shown.

I slaked my thirst deeply upon those unsuspecting souls, the roaring of the blood filling me with vigour... and power, dark power...

My rebirth has brought an insight into the emotions of those around me. I hear their unspoken doubts and fears, I can taste their very desires.

Thus it was I felt Jade's anger. Such unbridled passion that it washed over me in waves, beating upon me as if upon a rock strewn shore.
I have no wish to gainsay m'lady, only to advise, thus allowing her to control her rage and this seemed to be accomplished.

There is within us all a wildness, it is part of our very being. How we deal with this inner demon reflects upon our standing in the wider world.
We must, after all, walk amongst these mortals... are we to stand in defiance of all peoples, or shall we maintain that which has brought The House of Tremere to this age...
secrecy of purpose and nature, maintained through strict adherence to the Laws of Tremere and utmost loyalty to the family?

This is my testament.

I care not for fate.

Our destinies are our own to command, thus we shall prevail against those of lesser will, for our desire is greater.

The House of Tremere stands now upon the brink, from the choices made the family shall reap great reward or dwindle to nought but a dark memory...
Whatever paths are decided upon, my unswerving loyalty will hold fast.

I have issued The Tenets to The Guardians. By those rules our lives shall be led, but frightful vengeance will be swiftly brought upon those who forsake them.

Of my own changing nature, I am beginning that slow understanding that shall grow apace with my developing powers. Still the flames trouble me, but through patient practice I can now stand within arms length of the candle upon my table.
My thirst is now within my control... the sent of the blood no longer drives me to a frenzy, I can keep in check those darker desires, unleashing them as I wish.
But I labour alone. For I have non to teach me that deeper knowledge which will unlock the hidden strengths that threaten to erupt unbidden.
I shall learn through experience, I have no doubt.
