9th September 07

The last few days have been very trying i have had to betray someone close to me,

I was alone in my home when i was approached by Gangrel, he sometimes visits the main house, he seemed to be looking for me which surprised me somewhat, he advised me that he had just come from a tremere family meeting which i had forgotten about, my first thoughts were of punishment for not attending, i bit my lip almost drawing blood.

He advised me not to worry and that he had news of the meeting that was important for me to hear and spoke of something to do with Naelothlyn wine and that it was being illegally sold as technically Tremere were in rulers of Naeloth and they were not aware of the wine being for sale. It seemed a little complicated and to be honest to begin with most of it sailed over my head, until he mentioned a name Sonja, i recognised that name but didnt truly know who it belonged to.

Gangrel left and i started trying to work out who selling the Wine. Later that evening i headed to Swaggers i thought that there would be a good starting place, i noticed a newish barmaid who may be slightly niave walked out of the tavern and disguised myself as not to draw attention to the Tremere family or my kind.

With my new appearance i headed back into the Taven and approached the female, she headed through a door, which i followed and came upon her smoking a pipe. I asked her if i could have a word and then told her i was arranging a party and needed a special item, the words flowed from my mouth i had no problem in making up a story. I advised i needed some wine, some special wine, and then she advised they had some Naeloth Wine. I asked her for a bottle and she went inside the bar but came out several minutes later empty handed. She advised she had spoken to 'Becca' but that they had sold out, and were expecting a delivery in the last few days.

I asked if she could give me the name of the person selling the wine, a bold move i admit, but she told me she could not do this as they were in the process of trying to arrange a trading contract with the seller. I got a few details but nothing particularly of use. I offered her gold coins for the name but she would still not give it up.

Eventually i bid her farewell and headed into the bar, where i asked to speak to 'Becca' personally, we headed outside and spoke, i told her of my 'situation' with getting wine for a celebration, but like her barmaid she would not tell me. I 'placed' a large order of wine, and she told me she may be able to get it that same night.

I came back to the tavern later and heard several people talking about the wine, i hid in the shadows listening to them and heard a discription of the person they had seen with the wine, it sounded like my dear Alias, my own blood doll. I was horrified and after they left took the mostly empty bottle from the table, the bottle seemed normal but with some scrawl upon it i could not read as the label was partly torn.

Now to arrange a meeting with Alias...

10th September 07

I awoke with a sense of purpose but also with a sense of dread, i knew that today was going to be one of the hardest days emotionly that i have ever dealt with.

I sent a pidgeon to Alias inviting her to meet me by Trinsic Bank, i arrived promptly at the chosen time and met with her, i admit i was afraid to meet her eye, i avoided her questions a little and was somewhat cold towards her. I did not want her to know what was to happen.

We recalled to my home, entered the property and i locked the door securely behind me. I took a sit opposite Alias and took a few deep breathes. I told her that i cared for her alot and that i was sorry for what was going to happen. She seemed somewhat confused, so i placed the half empty bottle of wine on the table.

She did not seem to recognise it nor know what was happen. I told her that i had heard someone had been selling Naelothlyn wine and that they shouldnt have been. She admitted almost right away that it was her and that she did not seem to be know that she was commiting any crime.

I asked her if the wine was geninue, she told me it was, i felt exhausted, this was draining my energy. I asked her where she had gotten the wine, but she refused to answer me, asking me questions that i too could not answer as i am not in possession of all of the facts.

I focused hard, calling to Gwen and Demos, two people who i thought would be able to get this answer from her. This was my ultimate act of betrayal for the friendship i had with Alias and i think it may have broken the last part of humanity that i was trying to keep safe within me.

Gwen and Demos started asking her questions, which like when she spoke to me she skirted around, she laughed at Demos something i know that would only anger him further. I started to daydream, tried to block out in my mind all that was happening in my home.

Gwen approached me, i heard her footsteps as they brought me out from my daydream, she seemed angry with me, she said that she was concerned that i was in too deep with this and i believe she thought that maybe my loyalty was not with the family in mind. I told her that my loyalities were only to the family that i would not go against them, she seemed happy with this answer for the moment but cast me a glaring look as she walked back to the other side of the room.

After some time had past and after much repeating of the same question, over and over again of who had supplied her with this wine, Demos seemed to lose his patience and walked out of my home, leaving just, Gwen, Alias and myself in the room.

I knew what this meant, that he was leaving the situation in Gwen's hands, i know from past experience of her temper with others that her fuse was short.

She asked the question one more time, but not getting the response she required she struck out at Alias, then called me over to heal her. I advised Gwen that i am not a healer and did not know this art, she seemed angry with me and struck at Alias again. Alias lost conciousness, i was worried that Gwen was going to continue striking her maybe till Alias lost her life. But Gwen stopped, looked at me and asked me to bind her and take her to my dungeon.

Gwen left after giving me those orders. I tied Alias up and semi dragged her to my dungeon. I laid her out on the bed, searching her and removing any objects that seemed dangerous or that may help her to escape.

I looked down on her lifeless form laying on the cell bed, and sighed, she looked such a mess, covered in blood and dirt from the beating, i removed some cloth from my rucksack and wet it from a jug of water, and cleaned her face. She stirred and looked at me with a look of pure hatred towards me, The look made me feel so small, made me hate myself so much, i turned and left, locking the door behind me. I left the basement sobbing softly to myself.

11th September 07

There is always too many things going on at once, and whenever i try to do something good it always turns pearshaped.

Demos contacted me and advised me he was planning to call to my house, to visit the 'prisoner' Alias. He started interogating her, asking her lots of questions i managed to understand some of it. Information that the wine was geninue and was being supplied by a female drow who considered herself queen of Naeloth although obviously isnt. Demos seemed concerned worried that there was a group trying to rise to power within the city of Naeloth.

The convosation started getting confusing so i did my usual daydreaming.. nodding and shaking my head in the right places but luckily no one addressed any questions to me which is good otherwise my lack of attention would have been obvious and i would have gotten in more trouble. After some time Demos turned to me and advised me that i was to let Alias go, i felt a lump rise in my throat, obviously i was worried for my life.. or unlife as Alias obviously realised that i had turned her in and wasnt going to be best pleased. She wasnt.. threatened to kill me.. again something about burning me alive. Great i thought to myself, then again what else should i have expected from her.

When she was released and had left the area around my property Demos turned to me and advised me to make sure that i wear armor at all times and carry a weapon as it was possible that Alias could or would attack me at any time, i nodded, bid Demos farewell and then headed into my home to get changed into something that could protect me somewhat.

Several hours later i was sitting on my front step checking the quality of my arrows and making sure that i had enough in my quiver when i recieved a pidgeon from Demos, asking me to make my way to Naeloth Libary. I had no idea of where this such place was located, i sent back the pidgeon with this information and then headed over to Mistress Jade's house. The pidgeon found me again with another note from him, asking me to find a rune at Mistress Jades, i smiled to myself as obviously this is where i was and already had started hunting through the many runebooks in her libary and the many books near the entrance to her front door. I looked for some time and could not find one, i started to grow concerned as the previous pidgeon had also advised me that Lord Garod wanted to see me. The last thing i wanted to do in my current situation was to upset him.

After some time of searching over and over again through the same rune books, hoping that i had missed it or that it would magically appear, although this was obviously unlikely, i turned and sat on the steps. I looked to my left and saw a portal appear,it glowed a deathly shade of red, i assume that it had been sent for me to get to the Libary and stepped through it, luckily it was, although i realise now in hindsight how stupid it was going through a random gate, it could have led me anywhere.

The gate led me inside a dark libary of sorts, where i saw Demos and Garod, i was a little concerned as i had appeared inside a very small room, Garod seemed unhappy with Demos for casting the gate in such a place, i sighed to myself, thinking that the last thing i needed, not knowing what this meeting was about, was for Lord Garod to be already in a bad mood!

We walked into another much larger room i stood aside Demos hoping that this was the correct place for me to stand, i took a deep breath and then Lord Garod started to speak. He asked me what i knew of Alias, i explained the situation to him about how she was my blood doll, and what she had been doing with the wine, how we had put her in a cell and interrogated her etc. I shuddered after i had explained all of this and then waited for his response. He said that obviously i was not very good at choosing blood dolls and that at least for the moment i was not allowed to have any.

He also advised Demos and myself that we were to try and find out who the person was who was supplying Alias with the wine.

I was not impressed after all that had happened to be told off, i felt hurt and somewhat like a naughty child being scolded. I thought back to all the times that Vad and Fayte had gotten into trouble and wondered if i was destined to end up like them, because of my blood lineage. I cowdered further afraid of my own thoughts. As Demos and i were dismissed, i turned to leave, finding the door locked, Lord Garod approached it unlocking it, as i walked through the door, Lord Garod thanked me for my help with all of this, this lifted the previous thoughts and shadows from my heart alittle and i felt quiet a bit better.

Demos created a gate for us and we headed to Vesper, he advised me that he had some business to attend too and we headed into Swaggers, which seemed amazingly empty, i had never seen it this way before. We parted company and i headed back to my home to continue preparing myself just incase i was attacked.

16th September 07

I am not in the best of moods after the day i have had...i will explain.

I practised my archery for some time.. just giving them a touch up as i do not wish to loose any of what i have learned. I felt rather hungry and pondered for a time about where to go for food..

I headed over to Trinsic, and wandered around the usual spots, the place was all but deserted except for the odd guard and paladin non of which my palate fancied. So i headed over to New Haven and saw a couple of Recruiting Covians. I spoke with them a short time as they tried to recruit me they tried the odd trick of recruiting but i know them all. After some discussion the female who i now know to be called Kerri advised me that she had a brand, that the Covians branded all of their scouts, i winced at the thought of this. Then pondered and realised that i could maybe use this to my advantage.

I told her that i too had a brand (which is actually a scar) from my childhood and asked her to help me identify it. She agreed and proceeded to come over to me, i told her that it was in a place i would not want to reveal in town and that could she come with me. She nodded and we headed to my home.

When we arrived i lifted up my trousers and showed her my ankle.. she asked why i did not show her this in town.. i advised her i was unsure to be honest if i would have to take off my trousers but they seemed to lift up sufficiently.

I put my food onto a bench and she bent down to take a look at my ankle.. as she did so i brushed her hair aside and bit into her neck with my pointed fangs. She murmered a little but i was surprised that she did not struggle, this made my feeding very easy and i continued to drink until i could feel her pulse start to drop a little, i pulled back sealing her wound with my tongue and she fell onto the bench, i tried to catch her but failed.

She drifted in and out of conciousness for a few moments i told her that she had fainted and helped to support her. After i few moments i ran to get her some water and came back, giving her the water and propping open the front door to try and let some air into my very warm home.

I told her she had fainted probally due to the heat, she rested a short time and then i told her i would go look for the other Covians, I looked in New Haven where we had been originally but they were not there.. Not wanting to leave her to long incase she escape i headed back to my home.

We spoke a little.. well i spoke she groaned a little and i descided that i should take her back to Cove not something i would usually do but she seemed quite ill from the bloodloss and i did not wish her die if i left her alone i could not deal with an innocent persons death on my head.

I semi carried her back to her Guildhouse after rumaging through her bag and finding a rune for that location. The two men who were recruiting with her stood outside the house, i told them to come quickly, one of them came over just intime to catch her as she started to slump to the ground.

I told them that she had been fine one minute that she had bent down to look at my ankle and passed out. I had given her water, but that i was no healer and was unsure what was wrong with her. The carried her to a nearby bench and gave her more water to drink.

One of the men looked at me suspiciously and made it known to me that i was considered the only suspect, i shot him a look, and pointed over to the girl on the bench. "does she look hurt is there a mark on her? maybe she is sick or with child" he nodded turning to the girl.

Another man came on the scene, he was not in the Covian uniform and the Covians did not seem to know him but yet they let him approach the girl and examine her, i stepped back giving them more room as it was starting to get a little overcrowded as several more Covians stepped onto the porch.

He examined her, stating that she was pale but that there was no mark on her. Then they turned and grabbed me, he said he had pressed her neck and that she was in pain, i raised an eyebrow and wondered if they were trying to lure me into a trap to confess something.

They said they knew i was a vampire, i told them such things did not exist.

With one Covian on each side of me holding me still, one of them fashioned an ankh and then brought it over on the command of the person who had examined her, they said they had tests to prove i was one.

They put the ankh to me, i did not move nor react, it is but a folks tale that ankhs effect vampires, i already knew this and was glad of this. They seemed a little puzzled. He then asked them to hold me firm whilst he examined my mouth. I told him that i did not need restraining to do this but would do so of my own free will.

My teeth of course had retracted after i took the initial bite of the girl to puncture her, so my teeth looked no different to anyone elses

They seemed totally lost for words, the man said he did know any other way to prove if i was a vampire and instructed the Covians to cease restraining which they did.

One of them told me to beware that he would be watching me, and another of them apologised to me, which i accepted before bidding them farewell and headed on to the meeting which i knew was taking place shortly.

20th September 07

I have made a descision, i dont like orcs!

I headed over to Trinsic thought something interesting might be going on after spending several hours alone in my home practising my archery and trying to hide in the shadows although i have found this can be difficult depending on the time of day and how the light shines.

So i headed to Trinsic and found several people talking but looking ready for fighting, i was a little amused but then i looked a little into the distance and saw an orc, obviously what the people were afraid of. I pulled out my crossbow ready to join the others standing guard. As per usual there was no actual guards around so it was down to several 'civilians' to protect the city.

I fired an arrow to the left of the orc to show him we meant business and that we were ready to do so. The orc didnt seem to like this but then bent down and started lighting a fire at our feet and then placed some meat onto it cooking. He spoke in his own tongue, one i could barely understand he was grunting and moaning a few words seemed to come through but it was hard to translate, he said something about humans tasting better. I took this as a direct threat and aimed my crossbow towards him again.

Flipper arrived at this point and started started talking to the orc, if you could say that, i cant truely say whether she understood it or was making it up, but within a few moments she had turned into a fire elemental and started to attack it, i was a little shocked but had seen this only once before.. well not a fire elemental but an earth one, several days before.

She started attacking and i thought the best course of action would be to join in, i didnt know whether the orc could or would harm her but i didnt fancy the wrath of one of the family elders upon me so i joined in, i shot several arrows at him, one or two of them hit causing him to fall to the ground injured.

I turned to look back at flipper only to see her transform back into 'human form' then turned to look back at the orc only to see that he had fled the scene. I sighed, well at least he wouldnt be causing to much hassle in Trinsic for the foreseeable future.

I needed a drink, not blood just fluid of sorts and after some time headed to Swaggers to quench my thirst i sat down and ordered some milk, i turned to my left to see a gentleman sitting next to me, i recognised him from a little earlier in the day, he had arrived in trinsic shortly after the orc left and Flipper had become suspicious and harrassed him a little. I apologised to him and offered to buy him a drink.

No sooner had those words left my lips than through the door bundled several orcs, included the one which Flipper and i had fought just a short time before, i cursed under my breath and spoke into a nearby flame, summoning Flipper as i knew there would be trouble and there was no way i could handle all of them.

Flipper came in, all glowing and flamey, the barkeeper through her out and i was surprised to see he was not afraid, then again in a bar you probally see all sorts of strange wierd and wonderful things. He told her that she was burning the floor and she left to the outside. Three of the orcs headed outside following her, it took me a few minutes to realise i should probally be outside to as three against one was not fair odds, then again was three against two really much better.

As it was only myself, Flipper and the three orcs i thought i could probally cast a few necromancer spells, something i had not dared do in Trinsic town with so many people around.

I cast a few spells that i believed would help me, and prepared my bow just as the first Orc threw a punch at Flipper, i fired several arrows at the orc, just as Flipper was knocked to the ground, great i thought to myself, three against one. I managed to fire some spells and arrows at what seemed to be their leader before two of them jumped on me knocking me to the floor and punching me several times before talking to themselves and wandering off seeming very happy with themselves.

I got myself together and gathered a few possessions together that had fallen out of my bag during the scuffle and then headed over to Flipper who was sitting on the floor, i helped her up. Neither of us impressed and we headed into the bar for a drink to try and make something of the evening enjoyable and to hope that no one would realise that we were beaten by a bunch of savage orcs.

Still sporting my wounds now, although luckily the bruises seem to be fading fast. I think a good sleep is in order to try and help me relax and hope that tomorrow is a better day
