![]() ![]() | Alynora & Ayame's Encounters with the Shadow Court (repost) callumf 5th-September-2003, 10:51 [ I am in the process of trying to put together some histories - and I think Taelos has doen a lot of stuff on this but I wanted to bring up a compilation of posts made by myself and Alynora from way back in May 2002 . It might explain some of the history/realtionships between Callum , Ayame , Alynora , Ra Karn , Garod and others . Those new to the Court will hopefully find this of interest ] I shall keep this brief and try and stick to the major points . It all started near Vesper Moongate last night . Myself and Hayt were off to the Spiritwood Spring Festival . ( It was my first visit there ) After a brief and uneventful journey we arrived to see the Heavyweight Boxing Final . Which was interesting . However , out of the corner of my eye I noticed Ra . I was greeted by Alynora also and Garod was in the vicinity . The mage contest was unusual - I was expecting fearsome beasts and deamons , but instead watched a llama battle an alligator , then a grizzly and walrus joined the fray . But my thoughts had drifted to Ra and his recent actions . Alynora told me that he was drinking in a local tavern ... Hayt and myself were now separated . I went alone to the tavern to meet Ra and some others . During my conversation with Ra it transpired that Alynora was somehow bound to him , yet the subject of the affections of Garod ... Garod and Ra were arguing so intently that I had a chance to talk to Alynora and asked her if she wished to find freedom . She was unsure , clearly being under the influence of two very charming , powerful men - Garod and Ra . Plus there is a lot more to this three-sided relationship than a simple menage a trois . I pressed Alynora further much to the annoyance of Ra and Garod both of whom were in earshot ... I subtly tried to move myself and Aly to a safer place where we could talk more openly and possibly flee in safety to Trammel . ( I am no match for the claw and fangs of Ra , and Garod despatched Hayt quite quickly last week by all accounts ) There had also been an invasion of Spiritwood by a great many notorious murderers which added spice to the tension . And I wished to leave in one piece ... but not without ALynora if it was her wish ... Our only chance of escape was through a Portal somewhere , and I received a pigeon to let me know that Hayt had brought Josh and Jessie through to Spiritwood . Which now meant that the odds had shifted slightly in our favour ( 4 of us against 1 Ra - an interesting battle sometime ? ) - or that at least we could help Alynora "escape" whilst only dying a little . There was a slight scuffle between myself and Ra during which Garod left , much to my relief . The Courtiers there , Jess , Hayt and Josh surrounded Alynora and Josh produced a portal to freedom ... We stepped from Joshs gate to find ourselves in Felucca Vesper ( I think ) and Ra proceeded to try and talk Alynora into staying with him . It was a dramatic scene and ended with Alynora running off alone into the woods . She had chosen to not choose ( I think ) and simply wanted to be alone . Bemused by the whole affair , and confused , Josh made a gate back to Home in Trammel , and after a short delay I made my way to the Court to find Shannon ( a Vampire also ) Hayt and Ra waiting for me to explain things and also give me grave news concerning Ayame and myself ... Back at the Court Tower Ra tried to explain things from his point of view . Ra claimed that now Alynora was "free" that Garod would hunt her down and kill her and turn her into a Vampire . And that the bond between himself ( Ra ) and Alynora was purely friendship based , although I am not sure this is actually the case as Alynora , certainly during my earlier conversation , had hinted at something ... darker than that ... to do with blood . ( Ra denied this categorically - so who do we believe ? ) However , Alynora had turned down the Court's offer of sanctuary , prefering the wild places in Felucca . why ? Ra tried to blame me for what he sees as Alynora's now predetermined fate . He claims to have lost his only Immortal friend - as Alynora is in fact an Elf . Hayt pointed out that Alynora had chosen to leave of her own free will ... I also offered to be Ra's friend and aide and , upon my death , for my children , when I have them , for them to help Ra in his Immortal Loneliness ... I fear that Ra will at some point lose control in his quest for an Immortal Companion so I urge caution in his presence ... Now the bad part ... During the course of my conversation with Ra and Shannon it transpired that myself and Ayame were the source of much discussion amongst the Elder Darker Vampires in Felucca . Which quite amazed me , and that we were only still alive due to Ra's personal intervention on our behalf . Ra mentioned some names , which slip my memory as I was imagining the horrors awaiting myself and the Lady Ayame . However , one name which sticks in my memory is Alyosius who is the ring leader of this move to have myself and Ayame "removed" ... Alynora tossed yet another flower into the grove sacred to her family. As she sat there, she contemplated. She knew that the decision would come soon, or be forced upon her. Her time was running out. She watched the flower descend amongst the others that grew there, to be pulled into the ground itself. She sighed and looked up to watch the figure of blue light waiting in the middle. Waiting patiently as it always has done. “What will I do Grove Keeper? Why did you allow him to interrupt the process? Why did you allow him to take me from the death I had chosen for myself? Why did you not allow me to complete the family rituals? Why do you throw me back to the wolves like this? Don’t tell me that you too have now cast me away?” The figure just waited. She took another flower, plucked all the petals off and threw it at the figure. The shock of seeing Ra’Karn and Garod together as well as all the old friends in Spiritwood distressed her. Why was she so tongue-tied seeing them? They only fought as they had always fought. If it hadn’t been about her, they would have fought about something else. It was almost a hobby with them. They were both right in their own way of thinking. Neither of them would have her bound to the other. It was no longer their decision anymore in any case. As it never was. She was not their responsibility. She wished she could explain why she had to leave so suddenly, and was surprised that Ra’Karn had not realized why she left. She had had to go back to the one who had taken her from the grove. The one that had given her another life. She needed to talk to that person. She needed to know what to expect from either decision she would make. She needed to know what his opinion was. And she needed other things. She wished that Ra’Karn could realize that she would always be his friend, but that she had drawn too much attention from the elders who normally did not bother with her kind. She could not afford to have them find out where he or the rest of the Shadow Court resided. She was too much a danger for them. She only hoped that they would understand, and was thankful that she had run into them, for the sake of Ra’Karn. She hoped that Ra would use this second chance wisely and not abuse it For surely enough, the others would summon her again. And she had to go. She wondered why there were always misunderstandings between her and Garod. He could never understand why she would make a decision based on the welfare of others. That she had done what she could to buy time. He never understood that he needed to truly show her that he loved her, if he wanted her to be his mate. He should not threaten her friends and family. Despite Ra’s beastly appearance and mannerisms at times, he was her friend, one who had made her feel welcome in Naeloth. Funny how they never realized what a death that was to the spirit of an elf… To live amongst the drow and the undead. Almost an outcast amongst outcasts. She knew that Spiritwood was a place of the past to her. She felt a pang of regret that she had severed the ties bound her twin and herself together so strongly. It was better they didn’t know. She was too deeply changed to go back now. She tossed another flower. The figure caught it and put it down gently watching her. It said softly, in the old elven.. “It was not your time to go West yet… you have much yet to learn.. ” And with that it faded. She got up slowly and looked back over the grove for a moment. She thought to herself.. I will need to go back and find out then.. ![]() ![]() "You know…there’s an element of truth to every child’s tale and legend… and it’s usually worse than we ever want to remember.” House of Tremere: www.xs4all.nl/~garod1 |
