(OOC: This letter begins the story of Father Cuthbert, who is appointed as the mayor of New Paws (Player run town in Ultima Online / Town of Paws an existing town in other Ultima games). As Ultima Lore says Paws is one of the oldest towns in Britannia. Some of you who haven’t visited this player run town in some time will find out that Town Hall & Mayors residence can be found there now. Also “town centre” has been built containing few small shops to maintain the survival of this rather poor and small community and to bring life to the town. FYI, New Paws is not a separate guild. It is merged to Duchy of Trinsic (DOT). Welcome to Paws.)




Dear Brother Cuthbert

It is already dark when I am writing you this letter, and I feel it keeps getting darker and darker. I have grown old and tired and I feel there isn’t much time left for me. I can say that I lived a good, long life and enjoyed it to the fullest here at the oldest surviving regions of Sosaria. Paws always felt like home in its peacefulness and simplicity, a stretch away from the busy capitols of Britannia.

You lived 20 years here in Paws, before I sent you of to Moonglow. It was long time ago since we last met, and I remember when we swore we would meet again one day. Alas, it seems that day will now pass into oblivion. I feel it coming as I write these last lines…something to take me away from all this, towards peace. My wish is that you would take my place as the spiritual guide and mayor of our small community, New Paws. I have already discussed about it with the Duchy of Trinsic, to whose jurisdiction we belong to and all is set.
I often sit down and think of the day I first time took you to the Fens of the Dead. I often think…anyway it was a good, a spectacular day. If you should arrive I have arranged everything with a villager and a friend, Petre of Paws. He is respected within the town and should you choose to take this task on your hands, he will help you in the matters that need attention. I hope I had more time…but..
