"The heart of the just one is firm, trusting in the Higher Being."
With the permission of Father Brauder, I began my travels to help the poor, guide lost souls and learn about the various communities in Sosaria. My first destination is Skara Brae where I will spend a week establishing a mission for the poor and assisting the Skarans as best I can.
Travel to Skara was not easy. I was unable to use the moongate because my pack horse, Cleotilde, refuses to enter the magic portal. I asked Sergeant Isabella Walsh if I could get an escort to Skara. She quickly organised an escort detail and we set of for Skara Brae.
We met some trouble with brigands along the road, but guardsmen kept me and Cleo safe all along. I have to say that Sergeant Walsh has shown herself to be a very professional soldier, always thinking a step ahead and conducting the footmen smartly. Footman Radek Wilkes and Dylan Derwyn evidenced discipline and skill as well. If not for them, I would be captured or dead, and Cleo would be sandwich meat.
Once in Skara, I was welcomed by the Mayor's assistant, Ekta. He took me to the local church and said I could reside there during my stay in Skara. Soon after I met Master Templar Bevier, who also welcomed me warmly. Because my mission is one of aid and learning, I strived to see what beliefs we had in common and only commented on our differences concerning compassion.
There is a bit of a language barrier, but I am striving to learn as much as I can of it. In fact, I will write a book of Britannian to Skaran phrases to enrich our library with.
