To all my former family members who might be still out there.

I, Iym’iara Von’Sah, from this day onwards renounce my family name. I no longer wish to be known as a Von’Sah. Just as you, my former family, abandoned me, I abandon my name. It no longer exists!

Over these long and many months, Vierna has shown me the error of my ways. Before, I was not a true Drow – I am now. No more socialising with the inferior humans, no more hanging around city gates such as Trinsic like flies round dung, no more acquiescing to you inferior males. Vierna is my Matron Mother, my Mistress now.

Yes the lesson has been painful. Bones have been broken and wounds have been suffered. For months I lost my sight, I have lost my sense of taste forever. I suffered the pain, the torment and the humiliation because I was stubborn and foolish. I believed the lies told by Kalannar, Moiraine and the rest of you because I did not know different. Now I do. You are not Drow but humans with a black skin tone. You are a disgrace to the Drow race!

Please don’t bother trying to find me. I want nothing to do with you anymore. For I am now Drow! I am Vierna’s servant and this I do freely and willingly. For she has taught me what it is to be Drow. Showed me why we are the superior race and why female is superior to male. She can do what you could never do, she can protect me!

If any of you, my former family, still live, this is my plea to you. Bow to Vierna’s authority, she is too strong for you, too strong for all of us. Embrace the Spider!
