![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm sure many people here have a Universal Remote. I'm hoping some one can recommend one to me. My DVD-R/VCR Combo will not eject the VCR Tape. The DVD portion works fine, however I now have a Sonic the Hedge Hog Tape stuck in the VCR deck and Monkey Butt is going apepoop over it. I've had the machine for over a year and I did notice that the Power Button does not work on it, I have to use the remote to shut it off. No biggie really I thought. Well the Eject Button for the VCR is directly above it and it won't eject the Tape. Now I wonder if any of the VCR buttons work I'm sure if I get a universal Remote that has a eject button it will work. However I'm having a rough time finding a Remote with Eject button on it for the VCR. The only one I can find is a Logitech and its like @200! Halp please! Thanks! PS - I really do not want to try to open it up because A.) I don't want to mess up the DVD-R and B.) I'm scared of getting shocked and there is a bunch of static electricity over there (Kept getting little static shocks while unplugging) ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Universal Remote with EJECT for VCR? So I take it letting it rewind didn't work ![]() Most VCRs I ever had also had the Stop button work as an eject button if you hit it when it wasn't doing anything also. But, I did a quick search and ran across a forum (stupid me should have kept the link) where someone said all Harmony (Logitech) remotes either have Eject OR can be programmed to have Eject as a button. Worth a shot, I'd get this onehttp://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/re...s/375&cl=us,en I'd try contacting them somehow to confirm though. ![]() ![]() Thanks again Maddux! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Universal Remote with EJECT for VCR? Snuggs- if the tape is jammed inside, its very easy to take the cover off and release the tape. Make sure its unplugged from the electric and you'll find the cover is secured by screws. Unscrew the screws- lift off cover- release tape- put cover back on and put screws back. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Universal Remote with EJECT for VCR? Yeah, but it's not jammed, it's the eject button not working. So if my memory isn't failing, that means all the "insides" of the tape are meshed with the VCR, so just opening it up and pulling it out isn't going to cut it. Unless I'm thinking of tape players and not VCR's. ![]() ![]() Thanks again Maddux! Adri: women don't discuss men while in the bathroom, we sacrifice small animals and smoke tampons *rolls eyes* |

I'm thinking she's not telling us she was horseplaying around and accidently hit it and possibly broke the... err.... motherboard type thing (you know the "brains" on the inside that has all the sodering and stuff on a green card) which broke the eject button. But it probably is something as simple as it getting stuck ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks again Maddux! I had the same problem when my kids were babies- they would post their shapes inside the vcr and a tape would get stuck around the play head. The insides were ok but the tape would be mangled ![]() |
