Question Question for the ladies :)

I went to see a new podiatrist and she said I need to start wearing shoes with heels. Because my heel naturally lifts, I am over compensating by not walking on my tiptoes all the time. This in turn is causing and agitating my heal spur. So yesterday, I went to Boscov’s and they are running a sale on many fabulous shoes! I liked these. When I tried them on, there was less then half an inch of space in the heel (about the size of the tip of my index finger). I am not sure if this is natural or not, a ½ size down I would think would rub my heel raw. Since I usually do not wear heels, I have no idea what I am doing.

Any tips on walking gracefully, proper size so my feet do not kill me?
Do you know of great places to buy shoes?

Thanks so much!
*huggles*

Re: Question for the ladies :)

If there's that much space in the heel of the shoe, the shoe is too large. And when it comes to good fit and comfort in a shoe, you get exactly what you pay for.

Those do look good. But like what Eowyna said, if you have that much space, it's too large. You would not be walking comfortably in those. I've always thought high heeled shoes and comfort never go together.

Why don't you try those at 1/2 size smaller, wear nylons, and see how they feel when you're walking around.

Or try the size you tried with the insoles, see how they feel again.

I agree... Keep in mind a quality pair of shoes can be stretched a certain amount to allow more comfort.

Re: Question for the ladies :)

Funny I got to wear shoes with no heels... plus I am pretty well flat footed and VERY or no arches to my feet haha! I can npt stand high heels anyway I topple over more than I already do...

For advice on these shoes I am not sure I wish I could help especailly if you "need" these to keep your footies in good shape! But I seriously don't know =(

I would imagen a pair that doesn't slide around to much so they do not irritate you would be good but I would listen to the gals who posted above me ^_^

Well I don't need them to keep them in good shape. hehe, I do have to wear shoes with heels or put heel lifts in my regular shoes. She said " I'm not telling you to where high heels ever day, but maybe this much *squishes fingers to about an inch*" The orthodics she wants me to get are $425 and my insurance wont pay for any of it So i'd rather get a banging pair of heels for a eigth of the price and learn to walk in them until I can afford the orthodics.

Re: Question for the ladies :)

Orthotics are way overpriced if you ask me....I paid just under that for mine nearly 4 years ago....and I find I'm better off without them....Hope you are able to find some comfort for your feet :cheesy:

Shoes can be stretched? How do they stretch them? And where can I get them stretched?

Here is one

My parents used to have one like this... when we were little we used to pinch each others fingers in it!

Out of those 2, go for the black.
Or, if heels make you uncomfortable, what about those sneakers with the spring things in the back that raise the heel an inch or so?

Ally, you can buy a good set of shoe stretchers at a decent show store. If they don't have them, check out a shoe/boot repair place.
